Theme
My first thought when I heard "connect" was emotional connections. Thus, I made a game about forming an emotional connection with a strange creature.

This is a very cute virtual pet game. I love that the character is randomized, and it has a good selection of minigames.

Developer

Thank you for the comment! Besides the dancing minigame, I think the randomization was the best idea I had this jam.

Fun idea! The dancing minigame is pretty unforgiving and I definitely had problems were it would try to load the dancing mini game no matter what i picked and it would crash if i accidentally clicked anywhere other than the button but i think the concept and exectution is pretty great! Though if you fail a mini game its sorta hard to recover with how fast the pet gets hungry...Can't kill my sisters pet!! That'd be bad!!

Developer

I only figured out how to reproduce the crash bug just now and it's killing me inside that the jam's over! Note to self, keep testing even if you think you're done hours and hours ahead of the deadline!

I love how the creature is different every time you play! The food descriptions are funny, and I like how they hint at whether or not the food is useful. The dancing mini game is lots of fun, but I think it gets a little too difficult at the end -- it's a bit disheartening to lose all all the points you've already earned.

To be honest, I only left the minigame that way because there's a brief moment where the arrows exactly match the music if it's running at 60fps. :P

Not to spoil anything, there is a hint but it's not in the text. The descriptions are just there to amuse.
