Real games don't have ads. Apps do.

First off, I want to congratulate you on finishing a game for this jam.  I have played it and I have to say I give you credit for even trying to do motion controls.  That took bravery, and you should get credit for taking such a risk.

That said, it didn't pay off in this case.   With polish and refinement this game could be good, but in its current state it is really hard to play.  I think the window for what is up has too little of a tolerance, causing the game to be way too difficult.

I also have to ask, why are there ads?  This is a game jam, you are not going to make money off this game, and the time you spent for monetizing that will never pay off?  you could have spent that time refining the game.   if you do want to monetize you can always add it after the jam.

But again, just for trying something so ambitious you deserve props.   It is the only game with motion controls after all, so you should wear that badge with honor.

Developer

Hello RogueDogX!

Thank you for your feedback and encouragement!

Briefly responding to each of your key points:

1) Completion: I have been itching to make and publish a complete minigame to Google play for a long time. I took advantage of the Jam as motivation to attempt this personal goal. Check it out on Google Play: Flimpy

2) Motion Control: thank you for the input about the "up detection range" and difficulty. I'll definitely  look into  it.  :)

3)Polishing: the original goal was to publish as fast as possible. Including imperfections. That's why it's still only in beta phase. But I enjoyed making the game and now want to polish. We are working to change the look, add more music, improve detection and additional features! Check back soon for updates!

Finally 4) Ads

-the last minigame I published, I didn't put ads in and then got a lot of downloads. I have regretted decision that for a long time now!

-so I wanted to take advantage of the "complete game" priority and prioritized  learning how to do a simple ad system over perfecting gameplay.

-sorry about any inconveniences the ads may have caused you.  For future readers, you don't have to watch any ads to play the game, you can tap the menu button to return to the menu and replay as much as you want.  The ad is only for if you want to continue from your current score.

Again, thank you for playing Flimpy and taking the time to write a review!
