I am going to be honest here, because if somebody isn't , then "I guess that happens alot with game jam games" mentality keeps up, and we keep playing intentionally unfinished games, and who wants to play an unfinished game? Better yet, why release one?

Not meaning to sound mean, but truth be told, I haven't played more than the second level, because there's a major controls miscalculation, which drops your morale every single jump.

Maybe you did more levels, added cool stuff later on, but man, did you not test it? I mean did you not see early on, that every single jump has to be 100% perfect, if 1% too soon, it's not enough and you can't jump, unless 100% accurate. *Check picture below*

I know time is short, and we usually plan 10x more than we could achieve in time, but my question still remains the same: did you not test this? Or your jumps are always 100% accurate and never too soon?

Your game has potential because of the art and playing from the perspective of a fox. Next time play-test the crap out of it ;) Even put 5-10 of your friends to play-test it. It's better to have a short thing that is fully working and enjoyable than...

So the short version of what you are saying is next time far more focus on controls/movement even if the stages are only a screen in size? This is my 1st jam so knowing what to prioritise next time will help alot.

Exactly! But don't worry, I wasn't so efficient in my first game jam either... had to cut out a lot, and barely finished a decent, fair, working version in time. After you get a couple of projects done, you will be able to more accurately predict the amount of time each feature will require to implement, and even then, you need to leave 10-20% of the entire time-frame for a last phase debug session, where you share your game with 10-20 of your trusted gamer friends, and fix as many bugs as you all can find.

This fox game is promising! Hope you make fun games in the future! Cheers!

The fox and trees look great and its cool how the checkpoints are logs you have to pass through. The controls were a bit wonky but I had fun anyway. Good job!

thanks. I know there are issues with controls sometimes beeing unresposive and acting wierd at times, but i was running out of time and i guess that happens alot with game jam games
