Gloo looks like a silly goofy guy so I made a silly goofy song to go with him.

But what's this UFO?!
It's awesome!
It looks like someone's been singing to Toby Fox's music. It's just too good.
It's hyper creative, the lyrics are funny and the music is super catchy. The level of my competitors is rising drastically!
Frankly, I love it.
And since you're now my number 1 rival, I'm going to tease you with a little technical point. On the vocals, there's a hiss at 10kHz, I don't know if it's the mic or the EQ that did it, but you can hear it clearly on the "Glooooooooooo" intro.
Apart from that, it's great and it's great that you took the risk of making a sung piece of music.
Thank you for pointing that out! I never would have really noticed that but I can absolutely hear it now. My guess as to why that happened is because I was using vocaloid 6 for the first time so I wasn't familiar with all the settings it had for EQ and stuff.
did you just know by listening that it was a 10kHz hiss because that is majorly impressive!
Also, What do you mean by "but what's this UFO"? I mean I know it stands for unidentified flying object but what does it mean in this context? I hope I'm not just missing something obvious.
"but what's this UFO" is a French expression I've translated it literally. It means : something unexpected that came from nowhere. It's used in a possitive way (a dunk from a small guy for example).
I'm not a sound engineer, so I can't tell the frequency by ear alone. I exported your music and put it in my DAW and used an EQ to know where I was hearing the sound :)
Ah ok. Thank you for telling me. And thank you for enjoying it!
Catchy yet creative. Lyrics are fitting as well. Really fun entry!
Haha, this is fantastic! Such a fun and creative entry, nice work!
I have listened to this song so many times now, not because I have to rate the song carefully (actually, that too), but because the song is very catchy and full of energetic and happy vibes: something I find unique for a Gloo entry!
The high-pitch synth that sounds twice every beat captures the bounciness of the boss very well. The bass also represents the roundness of the boss nicely. The overall song is so goofy and adorable!
Speaking of being adorable, the song might better be a friend encounter rather than an enemy encounter. Either way, it's such a wonderful song indeed!
Thank you for your kind words!
Those sounds are delightful! Just when I wanted to ask "is that your own voice?", I got an answer. This is one of the first times that I find real voices well incorporated! Not only did the "gloooooo" fit the goofy nature well (along with the other goofy sounds!), but the lyrics were well mixed and sounded soo good!! I loved every bit of this, this is for sure the most surprising and most delightful song I've heard so far <3
And... could I ask what instruments you used? They fit the silly nature so well, I would love to get inspired. (I would also love to know how you made your vocals sound so good, but I understand if you want to keep this a secret ;)
Yeah I would love to share what I used!
Every non percussion and non vocaloid instrument was done with the VST Pigments which if you don't know what that is it is just a synth VST with a ton of presets that you can alter however you want. All the presets also come categorized into sections like Bass, Keys, Lead, Strings, ETC. A lot of the presets have terrible names that don't pertain to the sound at all so the names of the ones i used are not very descriptive.
the bassline instrument was in the Lead section and is called "Mighty Mjolnir" and I had edited it to be more punchy and bouncy.
The long chords were in the Keys section and they are called "Galactic Voices"
The weird noise that plays every other section (idk how to describe it) is also found in the lead section and its name is funnily "That's Nasty" so I thought it fit gloo rather well. I also made it echo and the echo would alternate panning left and right.
The percussion comes from both the free FL studio "Grv snareclap 09" as well as the Mother 3 sound font "cabasa and kick 3" which is a fantastic sound font because of the huge variety of instruments and percussive options it has.
Then of course the Vocaloid 6 vocals which uses the voice "sakura" in the style "moonlight" who takes breaths "sometimes"
those are all the instruments I used and most of them have heavy reverb since I wanted the song to be really echoey.
That's basically it so I hope that helps!
Wow, thanks for the detailed explanation! I will definitely check out some of these, see if I can reproduce them :)
What a surprise.... I love it!
Makes you happy all day long.
Not downloadable!?
it should be downloadable? I’ll look into it when I get home.
this really captures the essence of being a silly little guy
Don't forget Goofy!
This is definitely a level 1 enemy fight in Munchkin Quest, awesome
He is actually level 1 billion because he said so (gloo told me himself
My daughter new favorite song, go on Spotify !
That means so much to me! I've never actually put music on Spotify but I will look into it I think.
I know its been a really long time since this comment but I wanted to let you know that I did get a Spotify account set up and this song is available on there if you wanted to listen to it. It should show up if you search gloo the dragon.
Love the song! I was surprised (and delighted) when the lyrics came in. So fun!
The lyrics were super fun to make too!
Lol I really enjoyed this. Nice job :)
Thank you!
Really did not expect a song with lyrics haha, but that aside, it's really nice and really silly!
Thank you so much!
HMMMM
I promise I didn’t mean to do almost the same exact reasoning as you! When I looked at your submission afterwards I had a double take because I saw how similar they were.
yeah lol :)
Really good song, i love the use of a Vocaloid!
