Cool game! The Asteroid-style wire-frame graphics were a neat design decision. One thing I really kept wishing for was the ability to turn the ship faster, but overall the gameplay is quite fun!
The sound effect you designed for the ship explosion also tickled my brain a little. It's such a satisfying sound when you blow up an enemy :)
This is a lovely little game. I felt the slow ship rotation led to some interesting dog-fighting style gameplay where choosing speed and direction of turn was really important to get in behind the enemy.
The slow ship speed means it's important that you think ahead about which base to defend when.
The slower mechanics might not match the traditional wave-based-arcade frenzy but I liked it. :)
Pretty simple and nice to play, spaceship rotation was slow and I got chased and couldn't rotate fast enough to fight back, but I guess it's part of the difficulty. I once cleared the first area.
It’s like I say, one can’t lose with a wave-based arcade game. :)
As it’s been mentioned already, having such a slow turning speed was a bit frustrating. It would have also been fun to have the opportunity to upgrade the ship at the end of each wave. Some background space music would have helped enter the mood, even if it were a simple loop.
But overall it felt like a solid experience. The graphics are the best part of it: clean, legible, and thematically fitting.
Very cool, but I constantly wanted my ship to turn a bit faster :)
I managed to kill the first wave through precision use of torpedos, but I was killed at the same time, and then a game over triggered together with the start of wave 2. So I sat there dead, looking at a swarm of new green ships taunting me :)
