Good Game
thank you
My feedback:
I enjoyed switching back and forth between facial expressions. That is a fun game mechanic.
The difficulty spiked once your friend is introduced and you have to manage both of characters' expressions. This is where I dropped off; not because the game got difficult, but more so because I got confused having to focus on three things at once: the rules for my character, the rules for my character's friend, and the incoming people.
An area for improvement would also be the incorporation of the theme. With the facial expressions mechanic you have the 'out', but we never actually get to do anything on the inside.
As someone who didn't work on this game, my other theory is that the 'inside' is going into the palace to get your friend, and the 'out' his helping them escape the palace. If that was the developer's intentions, there might be ways to tie the theme and the mechanic more cohesively in the future.
I hope this feedback helps!
Thank you very much for playing.
I thought i can manage to build a game from scratch, but once everything got bigger. I snapped out.
The codebase became very very ugly and unmanagable.
I really wanted to make the gameplay feel better. Sorry.
And the theme is
Inside - The emotions
Out - expressing to others
I Know it didnt Comes off nicely.
But really, Thank you for the feedback.
No problem. And no need to apologize, game development always has its challenges.
I help part-time developers avoid certain pitfalls like that actually. I'd like to learn more about how you handle your development. DM me on discord @salsero
