Really cool system with voice control! Kinda hard but also possible, tho some words can have different pronunciation and some audio que would be nice, but not necessary. Sadly i died near the end bc i could not say vox fast enough. Overall really unique idea and really great entry!

I should enroll in Hogwarts.

Never have I thought there would be a speech recognition game in a 7-day jam. Very well done.

I've beat the computer game : Hop.

The dungeon is very good with all those obstacles to pass through via spells, and I like that you put some combat into it. The presentation is nice too, it's clean and I like how the enemies look.

The first version could not recognize my spells like at all, and Vox while the most used one might have been the worst spell (I always needed like 25 or 50 retries, I have not counted ;) ). I died near the end mostly because the game was painful to play and it was hard to get focused. Then I restarted using the fixed one and it flowed very well, I greatly enjoyed the game this time, congratulations.

I struggled quite a bit to get the microphone working and almost gave up. I am glad I didn't because this game is great! It works surprisingly well to speak out spells and it's a unique and interesting mechanic.

The graphics and atmosphere is nice and the theme interpretation works well too.

Well done :)

Didnt work for me. It always crashes when pressing C saying that VCRUNTIME140D.dll is missing, and then ucrtbased.dll is missing. Already uninstalled and reinstalled the visual C 2015 redistributable but it still wont work,

THX for feddback. On which OS you've played?

We will try to make a special build for you tomorrow, because our Windows-build-master @tombleron is busy. We don’t know why is this issue exists, so we will add additional libraries for libraries we are using for speech recognition (sox and pocketsphinx).

Developer

We tried something, but it appears there is nothing we can do with the problem. We think it’s on your side.

Jam Judge

Also tried on two different PCs with the same error.

This issue can be fixed by placing this files in .\build\speech_recognition\windows\pocketsphinx folder.

Jam Judge

Thanks! That works!

What a shame that didn't work for us. After we saw a crash dialog say something about speech recognition we knew we had to have another go but alas, we couldn't get it to understand VOX, no matter how we said it and what combination of pressing and holding the 'C' key and or the right mouse button we did. We're English so hopefully it wasn't an accent problem. Well done for trying something new, it was a brave thing to do and it could have paid off. That's what game jams are all about!

I really wanted to like this game. But, as others have stated, I struggled with the voice commands.

Any plans to refine the input / re-release? I’d love to give it another try.

The game is interesting and offers a nice choice of gameplay.

Unfortunately I've not been able to complete it as the choice of voice detection make it impossible to cast any spell other than "Vox" because of my french accent, no matter how hard I tried other accents or even loud I spelled... ^^"

I wish there could have been an alternative way to case spells to at least complete the level despite not taking the full experience

It was looking good in matter of graphics and the sound was fine too.

such a cool game, the environment is well made and the concept is insane. the only problem is that the voice commands arent detected that reliably additionally theres a tile missing collision in the level after unlocking the door.

this is super game about magic world! I like it.

Thanks for playing! Videos of someone playing is the best source of feedback.

We actually didn’t have to write some things into the book. So this portal is standing there misleadingly.

You actually need to find 4 crystals (like one on the table) and insert them into pedestals, and then repair the portal.

And to create a spell, you need to hold C button while speaking.

Developer

And after releasing the button, you need to wait for speech recognition to complete.

What a wonderful idea! Haha. Now I can't really use my microphone for this, but I like the concept a lot! Could maybe work as a mobile game.
