The production quality on this game is insane! You must have really come prepared. Using real life photos as character sprites was smart and added a great whimsical touch to the game.

I most definitley was not prepared. In fact, I was invited to do this jam with some friends but said I wasn't going to.
I ended up doing it without them to try and make a game by myself, hehe >:)

The art style and the character animations are really good but I was not a fan of all those numbers on the screen :/ it made it really hard to see where I was placing things and got kinda overwhelming.
But it was pretty fun nonetheless

Well either some smaller numbers or progress bars would probably make the screen less crowded and allow to enjoy the graphics more (they're really good it was kind of a bummer to not be able to admire it)

The game was actually about capitalism and the negative effects of deforestation, um...
But it wasn't explained in a negative way because your incentive is to exploit people with low income housing and deforest the world >:3
Excellent game! I didn't have it in me to deforest the whole map but maaan I hope the villagers like stepping on farmland when they exit the house :D
I stopped the exponential growth before 10k and I had to play it again to see what happened at 10k. Not disappointed.

Crazy fact about my game that I never even talked about actually, you can move with WAS&D or the arrow key, as well as zoom with the scroll wheel! I was going to make the game much much bigger but then decided to keep it in a smaller space so If you can't dig something up you could just zoom out a bit :>

I really liked it! Cozy farm game really fits the theme!
The dialogue effect made me laugh, reminded me of Animal Crossing characters.
The only problem I had was with getting rid of the corner plants as the menu was over it, but maybe there's a way to close it and I haven't figured it out lol

You can use the scroll wheel to zoom out to reach the plants on the edges :)

I can't remove grass from under the menu.
Also the shop sells shovel for the second time, idk why. Only one extra, only shovel, nothing else.
Otherwise it's nice. I will have nightmares from those deepfried portraits.

The shop normally just sells all three whenever you place it back down after breaking it. Are you saying that when you placed it, there was only a shovel? Interesting 🤔
P.S. You can zoom with the scroll wheel to dig up that grass ;)
Now that I think about it...
1) Buy shop
2) Buy shovel from shop
3) Misclick shovel on shop and destroy shop
4) Buy new shop
5) Shovel is restocked in shop, can be bought again

Presentation and music is really impressive! And I like the gameplay. It would be cool if there were a few more different things you could place in your farm.

The audio is definitely my favorite part, all of the music and sound effects are on point. My favorite part is the character dialogue sounds, they're super charming and fit really well with the vibe.
Ooo, The audio was a lot fun to implement! I made a package that took me around 4 months designed for playing audio, choosing random clips and playing them with random pitches to give the sound more variation! I'm glad I could use that in this project to get all of the sounds implemented with much more ease than before!
Also, Thank you so much! I had a lot of fun with dressing up and messing around to make those characters.
That is definitley a method I want to use more often to make characters in the future!
This game feels really polished from the music to the art and animations. It dosent feel like a game thats is cramped with in the limit of the game jam. (Like said by the author it was probbaly really stressful) Really good job on making the game, and when you start getting the jist of the game it was really satisfying to see the meny go up really quickly.

I wanted to make the game feel like a little complete game almost, but I didn't have a goal in mind until the last day where I.. Didn't sleep to implement the features I came up with. Definitley worth it!
