Really cute platformer! The controls are super tight and felt really good, and the pixel art was very polished. Amazing job!!
Thank you. I am very glad that you like it 😊
I'm not gonna lie, I rage quit this after 2 minutes and not clearing the first 3 jumps, which didn't feel cozy. Good visuals and sounds though!
Thank you. I'll make it easier next time.
Ooof... thats next level platformer hard. Took me 5 min to get past the first jumps! Then died on the fish! Then it sent me back to the beginning and I was like... NOPE! lol Not a dig at the game or mechanics though, they are very well done but that difficulty level from the start is way to steep. Sounds are good, music is good, controls are fine, but yeah an easier ramp up of difficulty would be most welcomed!
Thank you much. Next time I'll try to do an easier difficulty.
All good! That is what game jams are for! Plus, I'm not very good at platformers using the keyboard so it's likely entirely my poor platforming skills.
Nice art and controls but the level design is really obnoxious when the timer encourages you to go fast while a plethora of sections ask you to slow down.
Thank you I appreciate your feedback. I will more work on level design in the future.
Cute platformer, the art style is wonderful!
Thank you. I am very glad that you liked it😊
Nice game, I kept wanting to beat it, but I couldnt , haha, loved the sound fx and music
Thank you. Next time I'll try to do an easier difficulty.
Nice platformer! Level design seems to be the main thing that was focused on for this game and there are instances that are really tight and hard to avoid which leads to frustrating deaths. The inclusion of a speedrun timer doesn't represent the theme cozy to me as it adds a certain layer of stress on the player that can discourage them at this kind of difficulty.
Great job!! Can't wait to see if you work on any platformers in the future!!
Thank you very much. Your feedback has motivated me a lot 😊
I had fun playing this game, I like the difficulty. Though as the person below me has already said, the part before the first checkpoint has the enemies walk in very tight spaces, I think they should have been given a bit more space to let the player have an easier time to squeeze in, especially since this is the start of. Aside from that I actually like how the some sections of the levels were designed. I like how there are optional challenges you have to go through if you want to get all the coins. I like how the droppable yellow enemies are introduced, I think the checkpoints are well placed, I pretty much enjoyed how every section of the level was designed. Another thing to suggest is to have the chasing section start by how far you are from the boss rather than how close you are from hitting the ground, because I found it nearly impossible to get to the end without starting off with a jump off of the boss's head. Overall I think this is actually a fun and challenging platformer. I actually gave this game a couple of runs and got an all coin + almost sub 2-minute completion on my 3rd run. good stuff!
Very good idea with the boss start. Thank you for valuable and helpfull post.
A solid platformer.
I think the part before the 1st checkpoint was too tight for an opening stage.
I had a few times where I’d get stuck on the corner of the platform for a split second after I landed, which was a bit awkward, especially for the chase sequence before you complete the level.
Thank you for your feedback. Good points. I will keep an eye on it in the future.
very difficult at some point but still pretty fun! the player's movement feels unresponsive sometimes, maybe some coyote jump or jump buffer could help
Thank you. A coyote jump would definitely help.
Cute and fun, but a little too challenging for me, lol. I wish it was a bit more forgiving. I got frustrated and quit before finishing it. But I did try for a while, so there's definitely something charming about it that had me wanting to keep playing!
Thank you much. I'll try for cozier difficulty in the future in this jam.
The character feels great to play, and the game looks great, but it’s too frustratingly difficult at points. There are some really tight jumps, even when you first start, so it’s hard to even start playing it. I wasn’t able to finish it.
Thank you so much. Sorry for unbalanced difficulty.
Don’t feel sorry! Balance is hard lol, I struggle with it myself.
Thank You. I'm very glad 😊
I couldnt beat it but still a great game. though, spamming coins can make the challenge feel easier than it is.
Thanks much.
Nice! I played to the finish and had fun playing this one -- I'm a sucker for platformers with some well-designed challenge. It took me quite a few tries to get that final run from the huge enemy, but it was fun. You designed several "runs" here where you can't let up on your movement/speed, which I liked. Some hopefully useful feedback: adding "coyote time" would have felt nice to me, given the precise windows required for the many edge-of-platform leaps.
Fun game!
Thank you for valuable feedback. Coyote time is very good idea for improvement.
