Use of Theme / Inspiration
1) we researched trafficked animals around the world, and in the pacific northwest where we live. we discovered that spirit bears (also known as kermode bears), are black bears with no melanin production, giving them their unusual ghostly appearance. we crafted a narrative in which the main character, who builds pipelines and enjoys eating endangered, trafficked animals, gets turned into a spirit bear. he faces the challenges that the animals he's harmed have endured.

Development Process (optional)
we developed a maze minigame in which the bear has to travel across a map filled with obstacles to reach the next area. it's a puzzle game in which you need the help of other animals in your crew to get across different obstacles. the orca helps you get across the water, the bear can push logs, the owl can carry you over mountains. it teaches about the importance of cooperation and adds a strategy element to the gameplay. we'll implement this after the jam.
