The theme is Sail! Or Sale!
Big (sea) dog James from Queebly has made a little asset pack for use on the jam so he can be there in spirit: https://drive.google.com/drive/folders/1ZV2jrgcYKo-u194jtdpYgCnwpDWGgICU
Make a game on the Circular Quay to Parramatta ferry! Optional theme will be announced on the wharf!
Check out the games from last year's ferry jam: https://itch.io/jam/ferry-jam
We also have the opportunity to showcase the games at Waypoint Out West this year!! You'll have to bring your own laptop to share your game, but pick up a ticket here and come along! https://events.humanitix.com/waypoint-out-west
Here's a map of the Parramatta Wharf, Alt & Waypoint Out West. We can go to ACE (where Waypoint Out West is held) to drop off our bags at 11am:
Doesn't have to be a digital game, can be a board game, zine, art or whatever's good. Doesn't have to be finished either, and doesn't have to be finished on the ferry. Jam will be open for the weekend, feel free to catch another ferry or train for the jam, or just do this stationary too. I'd highly recommend making the jam on the ferry and then uploading later. We'll be going to the Powerhouse Alt Games Festival afterwards. The ferry is 1hr 26mins which is very tight, so consider planning ahead. It'll be the 9:07AM-10:33AM ferry.
Here's a list of tools for small games you could use (you're not limited to these):
And make sure not to take this too seriously, it is an hour and a half long ferry so drink water and give yourself a good ten minutes to pack-up and exit the ferry. And just have fun! This isn't ranked. It'll probably be windy, and I've been told that service is a bit spotty on the ferry.
Join the Games With Wings discord and turn notifs on for the Ferry Jam channel to keep in touch. We'll be getting the 9:07AM-10:33AM Ferry.
This jam is being conducted on the lands of the Gadigal People of the Eora Nation.
We pay respect to their Elders past and present. Sovereignty was never ceded, and this always was and always will be Aboriginal land.
