Very well made, it feels very professional. The art style kind of reminds me of Enter the Gungeon in the best possible way.

Thank you so much!

Overall, the game is very good. It's aesthetically pleasing, and the gameplay mechanics are well-designed, although it lacks some character progression (you already mentioned it's a demo, and I'm sure you'll add it later).

On the other hand, have you considered using the mouse as a sight?

Since you can only shoot straight ahead, it's difficult to shoot enemies without them hitting you.

Otherwise, everything's fine, good work.

Developer

Thanks for the comment! I actually added an aiming system so you can shoot in any direction right after the jam ended, kinda wish I had done it earlier because it's so much more fun this way. I'll definitely update it after the jam.

I just played your game, and I have to say,  the graphics are awesome. Thats part really stood out to me!  I like the effects and the pixel art!

One thing I noticed is that there is no directional shooting/aiming ,and I didn't know where to find the bullets. Maybe adding a tutorial could help improve the experience! Then the enemies were pounding on me like I am a sandwich 0-0  Prob adding a more of a linear approach to the difficulty could be better! The game wasn't 100% on theme but that's alright :D

Overall, I had a great time playing.. even tho i didn't know where IS THE DAMN BULLETS xD ,and I can see the potential here. Keep up the awesome work!

Hey, thanks so much for the comment! I really appreciate it. Honestly, I wish I had one more day to update the game, I changed the aiming so you can shoot in all directions and made the enemy spawns more balanced. I'll definitely update it after the jam though! It was my first jam, so I learned a lot, like how I should try out more ideas early on! :D

I think science fiction must tell one history, not take place in a space ship

I agree, had other ideas in mind but couldn’t quite finish them on time :l

The aiming was quite problematic and the boss was quite difficult as well

Shooting only in two directions, limited the way I could attack enemies.

Because if I try to get out of enemy range diagonally then I cannot shoot enemies as well...

I actually fixed those issues, but I can't update it right now. I'll update the game once the jam is over

Cool art and sounds, I liked the enemy and level designs. Kinda hard to hit your shots since you're limited to 2 directions, but good job for a weeks work!

Developer

Thank you! I'll work on updating the shooting system after the jam.

This is very clean well put-together. Because the "shoot" button is left mouse I expected the aiming direction to follow the cursor. Some polish on the character controller would be appreciated, but I believe this is the kind of project that is worth further attention. Great work!

Developer

Thanks for the comment! I’ll definitely try to improve the aiming mechanic after the jam.

Hey, we used some of the same assets! It's a very nice start for the shooter. Going forward, I believe adding weapons that can shoot in different directions, or maybe giving players control over the aim, could improve the gameplay!

Developer

Hey, thanks! Yeah, planning to update the combat to allow shooting in different directions after the jam.

This is really impressive, I would definitely download if I saw this on the app store! The instructions on the itch page are helpful -- I hadn't realized you needed to reload after. Some nits: Maybe a "click" sound when you attempt to shoot without having enough bullets, and maybe either faster movement or slightly off aim from the bots, so you have a chance to escape? In any case, this is awesome.

Thank you so much!  appreciate feedback. I totally agree a 'click' sound for empty shots would make things clearer, and adjusting the bots' aim or speed could definitely help balance the difficulty. I'll keep these in mind for future updates!
