Short but lovely game with fluid controls. I liked the minimalist feel of the graphics. You should make more levels :)

Nice little game. I could see this being expanded on into a full game. Was going to add that it felt awkward to be forced to die to get back to the start, but I see below that it's a teleport, not a death. Good work!

It's the star that brings you back to the start, dying makes you progress into next level

Nice concept and fluid controls!

Interesting concept. Like the reality that you might have to fail to succeed.

Graphics and audio were simple but worked well.  I really enjoyed the feeling I got when I competed the first level and everything clicked.  I like how it didn't explain anything but the discovery of the mechanics felt very natural.

I would have enjoyed more levels.  You also didn't need a quit button  :)

Developer

The quit button was necessary for the Windows build.

Ah!  Makes sense!

I love the simple but cute design of the player character, and especially the design of the red enemy!

Had fun playing this short game and figuring out how to win. Nice job with the theme of the jam- nothing did what I expected it to, so the title of this game is very fitting. Great work!  :]

Hi! :D Great game, I had a lot of fun playing it! The last level was challenging in a good way and I liked the puzzles. I think your game fit the theme well! Keep up the good work! :)

Thank you :)

Fun little game, pretty short and I also agree with Damian about feedback, animation and particle effects are really simple ways to make this work.

I wanted to get the idea executed first as I knew I would not have the whole week to work on it, hence I settled for only sound cues, but as have replied to Damian,  making it visible that its a teleport would be a good change.

Yeah I completely understand the time constraint, no problem :)

Hi. It's ok, but it lacks "players feedback". (take a look at this Jona's Tyroller's video about it. (The 2nd part, the feedback). That way player will learn better and faster, and with more fun, about what a star does in your video, what to do, what not to do.

:) Good luck, and keep making games!

If this was a basic game, then I would agree with you but with the theme being 'The Game is a Lie', one of the important things is to make people commit to a lie first, then when they realize its a lie they began to ask the question 'what to do now?'. This applies for the star as player's first nature will guide them to it. The only thing I can think of to make it better would be to make it visible that it's a teleport and not a scene restart .
