I love TDS style! Well done

Interesting idea, shooting feels satisfying and the visuals are good. I think some better sound effects and more clean controlled would make it even better.

Anyway, nice submission.

Graphics are pretty cool. The controls to move around didn't work too well unfortuently and I found the best strategy was to just sit in the starting spot and shoot from there. I definitely see a lot of potential with a bit of polish :) Congrats on finshing your game for the jam!

If you could take a few moments to play and rate our game too, that'd be fantastic! Thanks.

Already played and rated!

Liked the graphics! Adding music would be nice! The game was pretty confusing at first.

Other than that, good game!

Good game, I like the stars from the menu! Rate my game when you have time

I loved the start screen. Are those particle effects?

The gameplay feels a bit buggy, not sure if it is intended for the theme.

Developer

They are particle effects. What bugs are you experiencing?

Two major things: movement stuck and then and my ship leaps forward and stacking of  shots in one place (without moving).

some minor stuff like shots  staying in one place after a collision for a couple of frames before being removed and the collision detection with other ship feels weird.

Developer

"movement stuck and then and my ship leaps forward"

That's the only thing that shouldn't be happening. Thanks for the feedback by the way!

Reminds me of old arcade games! Not really sure how it fits the theme though but it was a decent game nevertheless :D

The idea is that the bullets are supposed to just do damage, like normal bullets and just like the general says, but they rotate through different effects constantly and unpredictably.

Congratulations to finishing your first jam game. It´s fun to play, but I´m not much good at it. Please consider checking out my game: https://itch.io/jam/cgj/rate/477137#post-934958 - played in browser, thank you very much

Hey, are you able to build a macOS version?  You can upload to an outside site (google drive, media fire, etc) and just share the link so we can play and rate it during the rating period.

Developer(+1)

Sorry, I can't do macOS. However I have made a WebGL version.

Oh, that's cool.  Is there a link somewhere?  I don't see on the actual game page (the non jam page).

Developer(+1)

I'll upload it now

Awesome!

I'm not sure if this is the best way to submit, but here you go.

Works!  Shooting mechanic is cool.  I like having the option of clicking or just holding.  It was hard to know if the other ships were losing health.   I could them moving around when getting shot (perhaps avoiding the missiles) but couldn't see their health.  I even unloaded until I couldn't shoot any more and the ship was still there (wasn't despairing).  Anyway, I can see the potential here.  Rated - great job finishing!

Thanks! This was my first jam so I'm glad I could finish even after restarting thrice.
