The art style was quirky and I liked the idea but unfortunately I got stuck at the green envelope. It said to press the button but I couldn't see any. Probably missed something.

Developer

You just have to collide the character with thr button (:

Nice game, the background noise kinda drove me crazy tho.

Thank you for playing!!

Tried it out. I'd add some sort of feedback that text was appearing on screen, maybe a sound effect, or add a background too it. Still, good effort!

Developer

thank you for your feedback I plan on releasing a full version soon with better graphics and sounds!

Hey! Checked out your game. It's cute and fits the theme :)  Maybe some sound effects on the collection of the coins and background. Particle effects can make the environment look more immersive. Good effort and don't give up! Keep doing this :D

Thank you for your feedback! solo developer here and I also couldn't skip school so this game was kinda rushed but I plan on releasing a full version of it in the near future!

good starting :) this jam was the hardest one as you are not allowed to use free 3rd party assets. don't forget to try other jams as well. then you can use all the free assets in unity assets store

also don't use the defaults fonts. pick one from www.dafont.com and you can directly use it in unity

Developer

Thank you for trying out my game and your suggestions I will be certainly keeping that font idea in mind for my future project I plan on making this game completely taking my time with it as a personal project..maybe I’ll have it on playstore or just here on itch

Well done for your first game. :)  Was also my first jam! I think you created a great take on the theme, and though the artwork is a bit rude, it definitely has its charm!

Thank you for trying out my game much appreciated! The art work was entirely made with the 2011 Galaxy note.. it didn’t have the precision on s-pen ... and then i took inspiration from the great bear grylls.. improvise. Adapt. Overcome. Lol

hi,

I played your game. To be honest with you, your lack of experience can be seen in your game. This doesn't mean you should give up. It means that there is still a lot to learn. I would suggest making your next game in 3d because you are using a mouse and it is really hard to draw with a mouse. On the other hand you can also make games with pixel art. Finally i would suggest you watching unity scripting beginner series. The really helped me out when I was making my game.

Thank you for playing my game I appreciate it and you're right there is a long list of things to learn for me .... would you be kind enough to share the link of the tutorial series ? Most of my work has been in python and Machine Learning, game development is definitely something new for me. Also could you suggest some beginner friendly 3D modelling software?

Unity 3d, Unity official tutorials for beginner scripting(the new ones). Unity recently started supporting boo which is very similar to python. Also C# is pretty easy to learn. For 3d modelling I would suggest blender 2.8 because they changed the ui and it's now very easy. My game was using my first Blender model.

Developer

Thank you! I appreciate it

Interesting little game--not a theme you usually see! The game design was pretty fair; I understood the theme and goals of the game right away, and I didn't get lost or confused.

The audio was rather hell-like, but not deliberately, I think. It was annoying, to say the least--at the very least, the loop should have been longer.

The graphics were fine, given the time constraints. Unfortunately, I didn't really get the feeling of being in hell. There was no real sense of horror or doom.

Also, I found a nearly game-breaking bug: in the 2nd level, I got caught in a wall. While I thought this would probably end my game, it turned out to be a way around the level's puzzles! Still, you might want to fix it.

Finally, while I commend you for coming up with some new questions for the gatekeeper to ask, as opposed to the usual Riddle of the Sphynx-type stuff, I got caught on the second question on the third level, and, lacking any way to save and come back, that ended my game. Maybe a hint feature?

All in all, a fun and different little game with a few flaws that could be mended. Thanks for writing this game!

P.S. Please don't bother going to try and review my game--it never got finished, so there's no game posted there.

Hi! thank you for your review of the game I really appreciate the constructive criticism.

I did intend to have a little more doom and hell-ish feel to it but there was only so much I could do with the characters and environment considering I drew them on a Samsung Galaxy Note (the og released in 2011 it's super laggy).

The audio was made on the last day because I completely forgot that the sound was a criteria for judgement the same goes for the riddles in level 3 they were like an end moment decision (but I plan on working on this game in the future taking my time with it so an update is definitely on the horizon.

This was my first ever game jam and the 3rd game I have ever made I had fun while making this game the adrenaline felt good! Thank you so much for your review and playing this game I really appreciate it!
