Hi! Probably a little early for this but I wanted to get it all out while it was fresh in my head. BLOCK OF TEXT AHOY

https://phantogast.itch.io/wanderers/devlog/246661/wanderers-postmortem-how-a-5-...

I think I can finally relax now, haha! I'm going to chill out for a bit, and then check out some of these games, they look so damn cool I love this aesthetic!! Well done everyone! :D

Two questions! Is anyone else planning on doing a postmortem? You can post them here if you do I guess? Or make your own post? Whooo knowws

And what was the biggest challenge / bug you faced on this jam? For me it was when the tilemap borked itself up and I had to work on the level design blind, I just... took a deep breath and tried not to flip the table, or forget what I was doing and put the wrong thing in the wrong place! Very stressful. All worth it tho. :D

But yeah I'm looking forward to playing your games, they look amazing. Well done againnnn :D

Good initiative! Thanks for sharing :) We are also looking to upload some postmortem. I think we should use this outlet if possible! Sharing on the discord ^^

I did a quick eval of how things turned out vs. how I expected them to turn out here: https://oofoe.itch.io/zodetrip/devlog/246710/tools-down

Will probably have more items of a post-mortemic nature soon.

Biggest challenge for me was that I was determined to get sound, but the audio library I had hung my hopes on wouldn't compile properly. Fortunately, SDL2 Mixer worked out, but I wasted a lot of time trying to troubleshoot DLLs in Windows...

I wrote a devlog on how I did the black and white shader in Godot: https://rudyvic.itch.io/light-age/devlog/242548/light-age-black-and-white-shader

It's really straightforward, but for me, this was a big problem because I didn't have any type of experience with shaders (this was my first time using them, and I have understood that they are really powerful). For this reason, the first thing that I did for the game was this shader, and I have started to do the game only after it worked properly.

Finally finished mine. Mostly just went over the process of designing the game and a few lessons learned.

Biggest lesson: work sloppy, fix later (maybe).

I'm going to publish my game's postmortem this weekend. This is one of the best things about game jams: how the experience went through

Here's my post-mortem~ I'm not the type to do devlogs so this felt a bit weird but the game jam itself was very fulfilling and a very new learning experience for me. Also touched on some updates for the future~!
