I really like the pilot POV! It felt unique and the controls match it well. I wish I could read faster or advance the intro text at my own pace since I wanted to get more into the narrative aspect!
Atlas has a lot of health so I think things like phases or extra abilities for the player would keep things lively/fresh as you whittle away at the health. Also, with the little character screen in the bottom right, I could see an update with potential animations/reactions based on what you're doing (getting hit, getting close to the end, etc).
Great game!
That's a very creative one, I sure wasn't expecting something that played like this. I really like Harley's design too, it looks pretty cool, altought now I feel a little clickbaited since she barely appears in-game x)
The game is still a little too simple for me to really analize a lot of it tho, unfortunatelly, but that's fine. Only nitpicks I really wanna say is that the intro text scrolls a little way too fast, I couldn't read the story the first time, I had to go my recordings and read it by pausing there, altought this really doesn't affect the game itself anyway x3
Another thing I think it's worth pointing out is that the artstyle do feel a little janky, like, the sprites of each thing doesn't talk all that well with each other, but I can't quite tell exactly why, sorry. I'm usually a fan of artstyle clashing, but in this case it really didn't click sadly.
Good game, love the design !
This is cool! I just wish it was longer, with more variety of enemies. The art is really cool and all the colors go well together. I enjoyed the claustrophobic feeling of piloting the plane. Some minor nitpicks I had are the repetitiveness of the shooting sound (it started hurting my ears), and having to hold down left click (why would I not be shooting?).
Wow! This is really cool! I had a bit of trouble controlling it but I think that was just a skill issue on my part
Well presented! I enjoyed the aesthetics and how the main character looks. Gameplay wise - some parts of it made me feel a bit mixed, unfortunately:
- The shot sounds felt way too loud and distracting, which forced me to take off my headphones. Thus sadly I couldn't hear the soundtrack at all
- The boss only ever used a single attack pattern, which was fairly trivial to evade. If it had some more attack variety, or maybe some small backup enemies arriving as the fight goes on then it would have been more engaging for me. I also imagine some kind of bullet hoops to fly through, I think that could utilize the plane flight mechanic nicely
- Not sure how the theme was implemented? Themes are optional so it didn't affect my other ratings, but still wanted to mention it
I think with some more work put into the gameplay aspect, the game could be a pretty fun experience ^^ You already have a solid visual foundation. Congrats on finishing the jam!
Pretty fun overall, but felt like some sounds were louder than others
The art style is lovely! The shooting noise was quite loud compared to everything else and got a little repetitive. I had a lot of fun dodging the projectiles. Good job
A bit same-y but the presentation is nice.
Nice game! It may of been just me but the bullets were a bit too loud compared to other things, however I love the art and the silliness!
Not bad visually and I like what you were going for. I found that the gameplay was quite repetitive though. Also the into text went by in a snap so I unfortunately didn't get the chance to read the lore presented by the game, but that's not that big of a deal. Good submission 👍
I found the way of shooting from the plane very curious, I had a lot of fun! Also the art is beautiful. As the only comment, maybe it was a little difficult for me to determine if the bullets of the enemies were coming towards me or not.
Good job!
Really liked the first person take on the genre. Looks really nice. I had a hard time knowing if I was doing damage or if there was going to be an ending after shooting for a while.
The art in this is great! Wild ride
Thanks so much @porkrind
We're so glad you like it! If you have any feedback you could offer too, we're still working on polishing it a bit before the jam is over :)
Like the opening music a lot. the character designs are cute. but eh... is there an ending? or it just loops until i die?
Thanks so much! Our composer made great music for this overall and the character designs were a lot of fun :)
There is a very brief ending if you either die or win. Then you can press r to restart!
Very cool game. well done! The cover art is very well done, and the first person prespective was unexpected, looks great!
Thanks so much Denos! We're so happy you like it. The cover art was a collab between me and the other artist :)
The first person perspective was thanks to our programmer who came up with it ^^)
If you have any additional feedback, let us do know please!
The lore of the game is interesting, but I really liked the artstyle and overall aesthetic of the game -- gives me PC98 visual novel feelings! It's probably just me but the first-person controls were a bit disorienting, some motions were too over-correcting and moved a bit further than I wanted it to, but it's a really cool game!
OMG totally the inspiration ngl :)
Thanks so much again for the feedback, we'll see if we can fix this a little but we're happy that you like it.
This was fun, the first person flight feels right and I like the color palette, the two protagonists and the over the top story.
Thanks so much! We're so glad you like it.
If you have additional feedback, let me know :)
