Wowie! This was insane. UI and boss looked so professional I can't even believe this was made in only 10 days. Congrats to you all! Other than the hitbox feeling a little bit big, the game was very fun, and the attack patterns were very fun to learn. Quite a creative concept, and perfect execution! I could only manage to get to stage 2 after about 20 minutes, but I loved every second of this game.

The visuals and UI look very professional! Good work!

its all that a bullet hell needs, simply perfect, congratulations!

Awesome visuals, loved the animations and overall presentation! Personally the game is really difficult though, it felt a little bit unforgiving at times. Also, a sound effect for when you get hit would probably be good. Otherwise very cool game, great work!

Great look and visuals! The sound work is great, very high quality!
My only problem is I couldn't get past the first boss, I felt the hit box was a little too unforgiving, but overall great work :)

Really polished and well made entry. Controls worked great, visuals and sounds worked well together and the sprite for the boss was epic! Super high quality production!

Some improvement ideas:

- the hitbox for the player seemed a bit large, maybe tune that down a bit?

- the shooting sound for the spider felt a bit lacking

- it is very difficult from the start, the feeling of progression would be greater if it started a bit easier and progressed to being more difficult

These are of course small thing, so overall, fantastic job!

We'd also greatly appreciate if you had time to check out our submission! :)

The game’s presentation is very impressive, however I unfortunately had a handful of issues that made it difficult to enjoy beyond that:

  • The combined factors of the player’s big hitbox, very fast enemy bullet speed, and small arena make it very difficult to manually dodge attacks; even dashing can be somewhat of a gamble because of the patterns themselves (see below).
  • The boss’ random patterns are fairly messy/unintuitive to dodge around (exacerbated by the huge hitboxes, leading to a lot of random bonking), and its non-random patterns are somewhat difficult to read due to their large changes in shot angle between shots combined with their relatively low rate of fire.
  • The player’s i-frames are really short, leading to taking a bunch of hits while trying to escape a bad situation (usually with a dash, but as stated even that is risky, leading into getting hit again shortly after dashing).
  • The lifebar’s last two chains seem to function as your very last life rather than your last two lives, leading me to think I still had an extra life left when this was really my last one and surprise me with a death.

Wow, the atmosphere is magnificent! The music, art, and other small things all blend together to give the game a very cohesive feel. The gameplay is pretty basic, but simple is good when it comes to game jams. Very solid entry!

I'd love it if you could find the time to check out my submission as well :)

This game looks soo good, and it is very polished. I really liked it a lot, the only bug I encountered was that it showed controller button popups while I was using the mouse and keyboard. But overall I really liked it. Verry solid submission especially for a 10 day jam, good job man!

It is very cool to see jam game that pushes some story, it is not very common. Also visuals are absolutely stunnig.

Really cool game :D The art is really well made, the music beautiful and fits the boss fight! The only downside is that there where no checkpoints after killing the spider once, but otherwise all was good! I also really liked the take on the theme, and I thought it was really well implemented!

okay, this is visually stunning. beautiful work! A lot of potential!  SFX could improve  though.

LOVE the art

The way you used the art was fantastic! Like I was impressed at the movements and the way you utilized the them, to make the game in the confined space! Excellent and tight gameplay as well!

I think that visuals are two steps ahead of the gameplay, it looks amazing. Nonetheless, the game is fun and very challenging. Great job!

Really cool visuals, same with the music. Player movement feels a little slow, could do with bumping the speed up a little imo

The visuals and story are insane! The atmosphere is really well done! I love the boss design!

I'm not fond of the sfx tho, it's very much like Binding of Isaac, but imo it lacks impact and definition.

It's also pretty challenging, but in a nice way, you want to play again to defeat that boss. Overall pretty nice game, with breathtaking atmosphere and story.

Visually very good, kinda hard but kinda one dimensional.

This game absolutely nails the presentation, the visuals are fantastic and the music sets the atmosphere incredibly well, but it has some issues when it comes to the actual gameplay itself.

What I feel are the issues -
1. The bullet patterns which don't include randomized bullets come out a bit too quickly and you have to rely on memorization to be able to dodge them consistently (Or at least I did, but my reaction time is pretty bad, so maybe others have no issue with this). I feel like the dash was made with reacting to these in mind, but I had no luck using it to dodge in these situations.

2. Many bullet patterns feel very similar, they're either aimed at a certain spot or fairly random, neither of these are bad bullet patterns, but if the game had a little more variety in terms of the things it throws at you this would be solved without having to change the existing ones (Although, understandably maybe it wasn't possible within the time constraints).

Either way, I think this is an interesting and sort-of poetic take on the theme and I am a big fan of how the spider uses it's several eyes as bullet emitters, I think that has a lot of potential for interesting bullet patterns (If I remember correctly, it was the second-to-last pattern in phase 2 which made me notice this, that one was pretty cool in particular, just a little too fast for me).

This may seem a little harsh compared to the other comments, but I only commented because I feel like this has a lot going of good going for it and a little extra push could make this absolutely fantastic.
