How does your game fit the theme?
The maze is reset to be different every time you die
Did you write all the code and made all the assets from scratch?
Almost all code by me, some assets were taken from online

i rate your game plz rate my game too fast
How many hours did it take to code this game?
It took me the full 7 days to finish this game, and even on submission I submitted literally 1 second late, but luckily there's a grace period for technical difficulties.
Nice game. I feel the sense of urgency to find the exit because of the monster. The animation is pretty cool. Maze generation is really impressive. One thing I would like to change is the design color, maybe it's just me but my eyes didn't like it.
Naw your right about the texture, it's hard on the eyes, thanks for the feedback!
Good game, could be improved. Movement didn't feel right, it was too fast and wasnt normalized.
You could get up on enemies. The sound of the teleporter wasn't audible, either music was loud or it had little range.
Yeah, I myself get annoyed by the audio sometimes, I was planning on adding audio sliders for SFX and music but no time :(, and the main audio slider doesn't even work for some reason. The audio range of the exit is close on purpose though, you can hear it from about 2.5 walls away.
Cool concept!
A really cool idea.
Nice game! Visuals are great, I love the sword model and animations. Theme is a bit vague. There are some issues with the combat: quite often I jumped on the enemy models during the fights. I wish there would be some kind of progression because right now every level looks the same. Overall, I enjoyed playing it for some time.
Honestly, is a pretty solid foundation, loved the graphics(Especially the sword) and loved the music. The main problem with the game its that after playing a couple of minutes, i reached level 11 and started to get tired of just running and srpingting, not really fighting the enemies. I suggest to add obstacles so you actually use the moving mechanics such as jumping and sliding.
The maze generation its awesome and i loved the black hole animation, and it follows the theme correctly. Keep it up man!!!
Thanks for the feedback, really considering updating the game now since a lot of people love it!!
The visuals are pretty cool. I really like the sword (it could've used some motion while walking to give it more depth, but it still looks really cool) . The walls of the maze are neat, but they can get a but hard on the eyes after awhile and it can be pretty disorienting when you're looking around quickly. The maze randomly generating each time is a pretty cool interpretation of the theme. Unfortunately, the game is way too long. After almost an hour of playing I had only made it to level 14. This was diagonal sprinting through all the enemies and using the maze-navigation algorithm to find the exit as fast as possible. I think the game could've worked much better with only four or so levels and some more distinguishing factors between each new maze and level (different colors, enemies etc.).
But with that said, the maze generation code is pretty cool. As someone who's tinkered with it myself, I know that's not easy to get working and it seems to work well. Also, I like the concept of having to find your way through the maze, but you can't just brute-force it if you die because the maze changes. I also really love the black hole death animation. It looks really neat and it illustrates what's going on pretty well.
I think some improvements could be to make the maze a bit cleaner visually and add some color variations to make each maze feel unique and varied. Also, making it so you can't run through enemies and making the mazes a lot smaller would focus the gameplay more on combat and less on running.
Overall, it's a really cool idea that has a lot of potential with a few adjustments.
Woah, that's a lot of feedback.
"it could've used some motion while walking to give it more depth", yeah I was planning on adding view bobbing and camera shake but I had to cut it off my list because I was literally working on other more necessary things till the last second.
"different colors, enemies etc.", that was my original plan, to have different themed levels, but as I was adding the base mechanics I realized there was no way I was gonna have time to.
"the game is way too long", sorry about that XD but it was intentional, since I'd finished all the base mechanics with 3 hours left and left all the level making till the end, I just spent the remaining time making levels and figured it wouldn't hurt to add a bunch, just more gameplay time if someone wanted to, but wow! You played it for an hour, that needs some pretty hard dedication. I myself have only made it to level 10 lol. But the last level is level 20 (named level 00) which I pretty much made impossible to beat with a 50 x 50 maze and 4 robot spawners, but to make it easier I added 2 exits on all the levels after level 11 I think, I don't even remember it was like 4am for me I'd stayed up all night. But yeah I went overboard with the levels for maybe that one person that dedicates super hard to it and somehow beats it all, but you're free to go as far as you want.
"hard on the eyes after awhile and it can be pretty disorienting when you're looking around quickly", you're very right about I thought it wouldn't matter in the beginning since I wanted to add different themes, but since that didn't happen, I dunno I just kept it, couldn't find anything that fits as well as it did.
"has a lot of potential with a few adjustments", yeah, big idea, not enough time, which is why I'm considering continuing the game, I had a long list of things I still wanted to add, like different themes/enemies, different maze shapes, moving walls, flags to mark where you've been, and general visual improvements.
Thanks for all the feedback, I really love me some good constructive criticism.
cool effects and gameplay!
I love the effect when you die!
I like how the entire level gets sucked into a black hole-looking thing when you die; that was a nice touch. Also, the fact that the levels are procedurally generated is pretty cool :) Although, as I said in other reviews, some more juice, like audio and particle systems would make the game feel a lot better. Despite this, I think this game really has a lot of potential, good job!
I had a long list of visual feedback I wanted to add, no time tho :(
ah, makes sense
The game is good, and a little more work would make it really good I think.
There isn't a ton of feedback when hitting the robots so at first I thought something wasn't working. Eventually they died though.
Then I realized I could just run past them all and get to the portal.
I think a timer on screen would've been a good feature, to incentivize the player being fast.
Overall pretty good
Yeah, I had a long list of stuff I wanted to add still, like camera shake and a timer like you said, but I had to cut a lot of it off because of time sadly. Thanks for the feedback though.
I feel that, we didn't even have time to add sound to our game. No sweat, you've got a decent game here.
pretty fun but i found like the best strategy was just run away winch skips kinda half the game
Yeah I realised that the day before submission and by then it was too late to change anything. I guess the intension was if you run away then you'll run out of stamina, and they'll have time to catch up. And as the levels progress you take longer to find the exit so the enemies just keep spawning and building up, so eventually you'll have to deal with them. And then I made the last level which is level 20 really hard, might be impossible even. But thanks for the feedback anyways.
The game is sooooo addictive. Realy fun. The controlls are really cool. But the robots aren't scary you can just ignore them and jump over them
Yeah, I realized at some point that you could just jump over, and I didn't really have time to try something different, which is why I added a hitbox on top of the robots when they punch, but I guess your still going too fast to get hit most of the time :/
Loved your game btw :)
You could also just disable the jump I don't know.
Naww it wouldn't be the same
Cool game. As far as I'm aware, it didn't seem like it was getting any harder as the levels progressed? Really liked the death animation though, that was a cool transition. Some pretty cool models for the lighting used as well.
I didn't really have time to test the game all the way through so I just assumed it would be pretty hard to beat XD, at least I made it with that intension.
