I applaud your attempt at a story for an 8 hour entry. That takes effort! The game play was pretty straightforwards but functional. I think for your graphics you'd get a lot of mileage out of using a color palette (there's some great websites for generating them, like coolors.co) It really boosts the visuals on games with simple graphics!
I'd really appreciate if you could give my game a shot as well and tell me what you think!

How does your game fit the theme?
Its a text based story game. It depicts how the end of one phase of Life leads to the beginning of the New one.
Did you write all the code and made all the assets from scratch?
Yes all the code and assets were made from scratch by me in 8hrs.

The gameplay was a little simple, but I liked the concept of the story! good job!
Fun little game, I was NOT expecting the gameplay after the whole baby text. I also KNEW I didn't have to jump over the green ball to pass levels, but I did anyway. It was worth the softlock.
Fun game, great work!!
Nice and short game. Good job for that short of time! The game gets very repetitive after some while and also the text is a bit too slow, maybe change that up a bit. But still, nice job for this short time!
(Also I would really appreciate it if you play my game too ^^)
Really interesting and unique take on the theme! The game could use some improvement on the visuals and overall feel of the game, but still, good job nonetheless!
A cool text narrative meets runner game.
(I know you made this in 8 hours so I apologize if my feedback seems overly critical but my goal is to give feedback that can help other devs in the future)
Pros: relatable and powerful message, a cool blending of genres, easy-to-understand mechanics
Cons: jump was really floaty, no way to quickly advance the text, lack of sound made the game feel really open both in the text portions and the runner portions, it seems as though English may not be your first/primary language, and if that's the case then it's completely understandable, but if not then the number of typos/punctuation errors was a bit much even for a jam given that the majority of the game is spent reading.
Overall it's a cool blend of two very different genres and given your personal added time restrictions it's definitely impressive that you have an entry at all, certainly one with this much polish.
Nice take on the theme !
Having a narrative alongside a runner game instantly gives it much sense, it's really clever. There's a few typos here and there, but I enjoyed the story as it takes me back and I can reflect :)
Some audio would have been amazing
A really nice interpretation of the theme. Like the earlier comments, I found the game a bit empty due to the lack of any audio. I think you over-scoped the game for a week jam. It's primarily a story-driven game depicting the various phases of life, so the gameplay must be in-line with that.
As a long term project however, it has a really good potential. I'd like to see how it turns out. Good work!
Interesting concept, graphics are pretty basic, which is usually not a problem, but I really felt it being missed out here. Audio is non-existent. I would also recommend adding an option to either make the text go faster, or a way to skip it, because it was really slow.
