How does your game fit the theme?
When player meets his end(Dies) the gameplay changes slightly, giving it a "new beginning", also when player defeats enemies with special abilities, he gets their special abilities, so "End" of those enemies gives a "new beginning" to those abilities
Did you write all the code and made all the assets from scratch?
yes, we are tired because of that

The art style was really nice, not a bad game.
Art and music was pretty nice, but controls was a little bit lagging in my case. Good job anyway!
Intresting and cool game! Really like the music and art, though it could've been a bit more consistent. I would say though (just as other people) the game is really overwhelming and none of the possible actions are explained, which made everything kinda confusing. But still, decent game!

This was interesting, a bit overwhelming at the start, but once I figured out what was going on it was pretty cool. The music is definitely intense and really sets a firm mood, so good job! I would appreciate if you could check out my game as well!
Really nice take on the theme! Ive seen a similar idea with another game, where you're a zombie/ghost for a specific amount of time after you die. The pixel art is also very good! I like the highlights from the sun behind the cat. Although, the game was pretty confusing at first, but I was able to get used to it after a while. Also, the guide/tutorial thats seen in the main menu has way too much text in it. I would recommend making it more interactive so it wouldnt be as boring, and the player would memorize it more :p
Thanks for the comment! Yeah, we did run out of time for a good guide, but when we do full version of the game, we will be sure to make it as clear and easy to understand as possible!
Nice game, I loved the artstyle and the music, but the game is a bit confusing
I love cats throwing boxes at enemies. Pretty good job. Controls definitely took a bit to get used to. Overall really good job!
Nice interpretation of the theme. I loved the art, especially the title screen art! The movement felt awkward initially, but I got the hang of it. Good job!
I like the game, especially with messing around with the boxes - you can yeet them at Mach 3 even though the bullets are like 5kmh xD. The movement system is a bit weird imho, and it makes dodging bullets a bit difficult. Other than that, I see a lot of potential for this game after refinement.
Team Cats! I liked the art and music quite a bit! I also can't resist a good BEAMMM-U attack. :D
Like others have said, it can be a bit overwhelming in the beginning. Attacking has some weird impact on movement, which was a bit confusing and can break the flow for a arcade-styled game.
Suggestions:
Go with a wave system that gradually introduces new enemy types.
Think fluid for the character movement and attacking. Generally you don't want to restrict the player from movement or options unless there is a really good reason to.
I'd love to play this again with some tweaks, so if you come back to it after the jam, hit me up! :D
thanks for the feedback! I'll definitely implement better difficulty curve and work on movement more, after the jam. My team also wants to make this game better afterwards, so we will definitely hit you up, when we do it)
My heart rate escalated once that music came in and the enemies appeared haha. Love a good cat game! A suggestion from me would be to maybe add an in game guide as I'm sure some people might skip the guide button and head straight into the game!
Congrats on your entry!
Thanks for the feedback! Yeah, we were planning on making a proper level guide, but sadly were running out of time)
Very nice
Only complaint is that pixel size is different from object to object so everything looks kinda messy
Team cats! nice game :)
Yeah, team cats!
really interesting mechanics here, wouldve been nice if the game had a bit of a slower start to it but throwing you right in is also kinda fun, but overall really solid game right here, i really enjoyed this :)
Fun game. Loved the use of the theme with the cat dieing. The art and audio is good too.
Really like the sloping ground idea, gives you a sense of instability and panic! Was a bit overwhelming with all the strange enemies flying at me :-) I'd suggest keeping the cat, background, sloping platforms, and getting the other sprites to match the pixel size and style, level of animation... of those core elements.
Cool game. I really liked the art and the concept is cool too. One it of advice I would give is maybe have it be a bit calmer in the beginning? I felt a bit overwhelmed before learning how to play :). Other than that great work!
Some fun ideas! I really liked coming back as a ghost and have a different set of controls. I wasn't sure if there was a "main objective", or was it just last as long as possible? And even if you die, you just keep going, so it's a little strange.
Something that annoyed me with the movement was attack totally stopped me, and then if I was still holding the movement keys, I still wouldn't move anymore. I would expect the movement to continue after my attack happens.
Art of cat is so good and BG is great. Had trouble with controls at first. it was fun throwing those boxes around lol.
