How does your game fit the theme?
A Frog (you) has a mission to start a new beginning for himself. The game is about the frog realizing what a new beginning really is. The message teaches the player that you don't have to start a new beginning, because every ending already starts one.

Did you write all the code and made all the assets from scratch?
All assets (Music, Visuals, UI, Code) were made from scratch during the jam period by me (Coding Kricket).

Love the art style and the cool calm vibe of the game. I'm also amazed that you were able to make such a polished game in such a small period of time. Great job! I would appreciate it wif you could rate my game as well :)

Developer

Thank you! I had a lot of fun creating art this jam!

Love the claymation look - nice style and vibe. The dialogue continued when I moved away from a character, an easy fix. Did the story go beyond the book? I couldn't see a next step. Nice work!

Developer

Thanks. Yup, the book was a little tricky, try going back to Pluto the Fox...

Top notch work! Looks and feels like a finished game! Despite being 3D it worked smoothly in the browser. Did you do anything in particular to make it run well in WebGL. I only ask because quite a few of the 3D projects in the jam seem to lag quite a bit for me.

Thanks for playing! Optimization is something I tend to get carried away with. It has costed me in the past. The biggest reason that I see many 3D games not preforming well (sometimes even 2D games) is having post-processing. It certainly improves the quality a lot, but is way to performance heavy for a WebGL build. Other than that, I also make sure my code is efficient, and as simple as possible.  I avoid instantiating and destroying objects for the most part, and only activate objects in the scene that need to be shown. I try not to add too many assets to the scene but that can be difficult sometimes. I'm not sure about this but fog may also help as it lowers the amount of stuff needed to be shown in scene. But for the most part I keep things simple. Anyways thanks again for playing!

Great! Thanks for all the advice!

This one's a cute game with very calming vibes! Very cool!

Developer(+1)

Thank you, I was hoping to create an experience like that.

I really love the look and feel of what you created here, the mechanics worked out most of the time, there is a slight issue with the fact that you trigger dialogs directly on entering the trigger collider. Maybe it would be better to let the Player start the interaction himself (maybe display "E" overhead of the interaction possibility and let the player interact on "E")

Good job ;-)

Developer(+1)

Thank you for playing! Yeah, a couple other people have mentioned that as well. I may change it after the jam. Anyways I hope you enjoyed playing.

i certainly did ;)

This game is so cute and adorable, the music and the general vibe of the game is so relaxing, I loved the character design, it would be interesting to expand it to make a educational game for kids, very good job!

Developer

Thank you! Yeah, that's a good idea!

Nice game! The visuals and audio were great, and I liked the little cutscenes that play at the end of each task. The theme seems to have been more of an afterthought than anything, but I had fun!

Developer

Thank you, art and music were what I really focused on! Yeah, I had a lot of trouble coming up with an idea for the theme, so decided to just start working and incorporate it somehow into the game later. Anyways, thanks again for playing

So adorable. I love how the frog's head wobbles when you walk around. I'm guessing animal crossing was a big inspiration for this? In any case, great job!

Developer

Thank you! Animal crossing was a big inspiration for this game as well as some other itch.io games I have recently played.

Very cute game. Especially, the froggy is so wobbly and cute.

Developer

Thanks! This is the first time rigging my character actually worked so I had a lot of fun animating it.

Cute game!

Thank you!

Thanks for submitting the game to the stream :)

If you wanted to check the vod again in the future heres the link to it (games are separated into chapters & yours is the 5th chapter)

Developer(+1)

Thanks again for playing it on stream. It gave me so much insight on what the players experience. All the feedback was really helpful, and I had a lot of fun watching you play through it :D

That's so cute omg !

And such nice puns hahaha even the name of the game got me to smile. I think adding some grass would be a nice improvement, also since I'm like 2 years old I kept on laughing at the footstep sounds. Just close your eyes as you move forward and you'll get it !

Developer

Thank you! Grass is a great idea! I spent a while trying to think of things to take up the scene and grass seems like a great solution; I may update it after the jam. I actually made the footstep sounds by changing the pitch of me clapping my hands. Anyways thanks again for playing!

Super cute artstyle. I really like the art and character design (also the name of a certain character is REALLY good lol). Great work

Developer

😂 Thanks! I had a lot of fun with the art!

Awww the characters are so cute! This is a really impressive game for a week-long game jam! I'd love to see this expanded into something more. My one suggestion would be to allow the character to move a bit faster. Otherwise, really great game! :)

Developer

Thank you! This has definitely been the most stressful jam I have participated in, but I think it turned out well! Yeah, someone else gave me the idea of having a sprint button, I may update it after the jam. Thanks again for playing!

Nice presentation! The characters and music are lovely!

Developer

Thank you, I had a blast making this!

This is a really nice looking game, and the characters are friggin' adorable. The character animations, cutscenes, and transitions were a really nice touch. Between that and the dialog and quest systems, it's a solid basis for an adventure game, and I'd love to see more of these little buddies.

+1 for the cute pitter-patter of froggy-feet.

Developer

Thank you! Yeah, I tried to build it as something I could expand upon in the future.  Sound effects were fun to make as well, and I'm glad they paid off!

Super cute game, I'm impressed by the characters and environment (considering they were all made from scratch during the jam period), and it's so refreshing to see non-combat gameplay every once in a while.

Also, nice cutscenes!

Good job!

Developer

Thank you! Yup, most of the time was spent on the 3D models and audio so I'm glad they paid off!
