How does you game fit the theme?
You are not alone because you control two characters: A Knight for combat, and a Light for navigation.

Did you write all the code and made all the assets from scratch?
I wrote the vast majority of code during the jam, and I made all the art during the jam. Music and sounds are not made by me (but they are all licensed under Creative Commons Zero).
I also used the A* Pathfinding Project by Aron Granberg https://arongranberg.com/astar/

Really well done! Loved that you have to protect the vulnerable light, makes for interesting mechanics.

Nice mechanics, It was really fun to get confused and nearly move the light to the enemies. I guess it is a bit of a stretch on the theme. My knight got stuck in a wall, I can't tell how it happened, maybe the zombie that creates a rift pushed me into the wall. It was the most fun I had so far with an entry, the game flows really nicely, good work.

It's a good game - the enemies are fun to fight against and there's always something for you to do - and it has a lot of potential, and with more enemy variety and more intuitve controls, it could easily become a great game - which I understand is not really something to criticise as this is a game jam and creating enemies and polishing controls is a lot of work to do. Another thing is that I feel like a boss is missing from the game, like there's a lack of a climax in the progression of difficulty, but then again this is a game jam. What I'm trying to say is that this is one of those games made for jams that could developed into a short 1-2 hour games and be really enjoyable. Great job overall.

Pretty cool game, being wary of both your friend and where to position the knight is a cool concept. Also the pixel art is great!

I loved the main concept as well as the pixel art. Your pixel art is way better than mine.

Speaking of which, could you try my game?

The idea of evading enemies with the mouse while trying to kill enemies is awesome! Great concept

I simply loved it!

very interesting concept and wasn't too difficult. The enemy design allowed for some interesting encounters.

Amazing! The idea is so simple yet so engaging. I was so disappointed when it was over 'cause I wanted more, I really hope to see this developed further. Definitely one of my favorites of the jam.

This is a really, really cool game. I love the core concept, really has a lot of potential and could be built on. Kinda wished it was longer!

Having to balance protecting your light, but also using it for navigation is a great interpretation of the theme, I think it's also the catalyst for what makes the game shine and could be pushed in so many different directions. The decision to make the knight auto-attack is bold for a dungeon crawler, but since you are controlling two characters it is a really good decision as it let's the gameplay shine for both equally, which is a really hard balancing act to pull off. The great concepts are backed up by really good art and gameplay, and overall it was a really great game to play start to finish - great work!

This is great! I love mechanics where you have to split your attention & movement between two sources in an action setting. Even with a few simple levels, the concept is engaging, and I would love to see the idea expanded upon! I think you've only scratched the surface of all the unique ways you could make enemies target the lantern, or expand on the light mechanic (maybe the knight could be afraid to go too far into the dark despite being invincible).

Very interesting concept! Managing both characters in the later rooms was very challenging - had a good difficulty curve. The 2D lighting was very atmospheric and impressive for a week. The game could absolutely be expanded on beyond the jam! You should be proud.

Great concept. Fun and a lot harder than it should seem.

I would buy this in a heartbeat. This is the coolest game I have played yet!!! I need more levels before I start having withdrawals. I love how you have to put the light in danger in order to kill the enemy. This concept is worthy of an entire game including two sequels and a prequel packed with lore.

I played this two player with my partner, one as the knight and the other as the light we played through twice to get both experience and was fun throughout, wish there were more levels to try :)
