How does you game fit the theme?
You complete pitch-dark levels with a companion who acts as a light source. Both of them have to get to the end of the level to progress.
Did you write all the code and made all the assets from scratch?
No. I did write most of the code. well, I don't know if following a bunch youtube tutorials counts, but most of the scripts are created by me. The only script I downloaded and use is from the A* Pathfinding project (https://arongranberg.com/astar/front).
I made all the sprites from scratch.
The music I use : https://opengameart.org/content/ancient-ruins

Brilliant mechanic for the theme. Really enjoyed it and I loved the evolution when you introduced the glass to see through but not fly through. Great job.
had a ton of fun! the graphics are amazing (atleast in my opinion haha).
would love if you played my game
Really cool game, I really liked it.
The interaction of the two characters and the lighting is just well made.
if I had to nitpick I'd have the player jump with space instead of just up, and I'd make the platforming feel a bit nicer. Also, the spikes colliders are super unforgiving 😂
But I really like the idea, I tried to do the same lighting effect in my game, although not as good 😂
I'd also have R restart the level and M or any other key bring back the light companion to you. It just feels a bit slow then I have to go get it myself😂
This could even be a nice multiplayer game tbh.
Good job!
Very well done, I like the idea. It caught me and the music fits. All the best!
Good job and amazing idea, fit the theme good imho
I love this game so much! I could gush about it, but I'll try not to lol Great idea, especially for the theme, but I just really love the dual character play and the light/shadows. Just amazing. I did get frustrated by the spikes, I found myself barely touching the bottom edge and dying... a lot. Maybe be a bit more forgiving with your collider there. Other than that - Awesome! Good job! 🤩
Thank you for the kind words! I realized too late the player's collider is too big lol, so the game is actually a bit unfair (sorry..). I used a placeholder when I was programming and I forgot to re-adjust the colliders after I applied the sprites. Well, it's something I have to remember next time I'm working on a new game. I appreciate the feedback.
I love this game. It actually has a lot of parallels to mine :). The light mechanic is great and the levels are well designed. Normally I would say the jump is a bit too floaty, but it actually fits the mood of this game perfectly. My only two suggestions are to make the follow mode a bit faster so that you don't have to wait for the light to catch up, and to reduce the size of the spike hitboxes slightly to make them a bit more forgiving. I got a bit stuck on the nearly-blind jump at the bottom of the last level, but I eventually worked it out and got to the end. Great visuals, sound, and overall polish. Excellent work!
Your game looks so awesome! I really like the visuals and art . Also the concept was cool. However this is a good game but in the future for more projects or jams I think you should improve the movement as it was a bit too hard. Don't get me wrong this is a great game and a super cool submission. If you feel like helping out you could play my game or view other submissions from the low rating category. Its totally up to you and keep up the excellent game development.
Cool idea, and very striking visuals. Good job!
Thanks for the kind words!
Hard game but the concept was great I liked the idea of making a separate light source and the music was great so the game was pretty great
Fun game! It was a little hard but I loved the way the shadows worked.
Thank you! I'm glad you enjoyed it
Great Game Concept! the ability to use an orb to light up the surroundings was a good idea. I think the movement was a little hard to use but other than that awesome game!
Thank you! I'm glad you liked it, and thanks for the feedback.
