How does you game fit the theme?
Your buddy the inmate keeps you company. But he wants to screw you over, so in this case, maybe being alone would been better.
Did you write all the code and made all the assets from scratch?
I wrote all the code, but my team made half the assets. The rest were acquired from the web.

Horror's not my jam, but I wanted to challenge myself and see what we could achieve while pushing our comfort zone.
Great game, I love the use of the prisoner dilema. The enviroment is great, the prisoner is scary and the sound is really effective. The best detail is the camera movement, it is really smooth.
I think you should adjust a bit the numbers. At the moment, you only gain 3 points for betraying, so if you always trust, at the last round at 8-8 you don't have any incentive to betray. If you move it to 4, it would create a powerful dilema to betray your fellow friend at 6-6 to win instantly.
All in all, I enjoyed it a lot, and I would like to see the ending!
Oh yeah! You bring up a pretty good suggestion.
I came up with those numbers on a whim, and without much deep thought. Initially I based those numbers upon the Prisoner's Dilemma; but later revised them a bit, mostly the penalties due to betrayals as to make it kinda symmetric.
Though, certainly those numbers could have used more thought.

Really cool concept, I like the visual novel take, never even thought of that.
Pros: simplistic design, cool story, interesting visuals and really builds tension with the music and sound design, unique interpretation of the theme.
Cons: no volume control, the point system is slightly unclear, the game does not seem to have an ending or if it does I couldn't trigger it, could have used more ambiance
Overall really fun experience and cool take on the theme.

Yeah, this was a pain to put together xD I attempted a bunch of new things all at once (first 3D project, first contact with 'Ink' the narrative scripting language, and above all... first attempt at the horror genre which isn't a genre I normally enjoy) so I wasn't expecting that great of a result.
But it was a cool experience, and I expanded my toolset quite a bit as a result. Still have a long road ahead of me, though.
However, horror still seems more like your thing than mine (hence your name, hehe).
I'll check out your game once my internet service gets restored (currently using mobile data to access the site)
Horror does happen to be more my thing haha. I attempted my first self made 3D game for this as well, though I cheated a bit using all Unity Store assets for the models and textures.

It's not often you see the prisoner's dilemma used in a jam. That fits nicely with the jam theme, too. I had fun with the little dialogue. The length and arc of the story feel great for a jam game. But I think I countered a bug - I was facing backwards when the prompt for the 4th round came up and I clicked before turning around and the dialogue said the other guy got 2 points, bringing them to 8, but my display still said 6 - like i had accidentally clicked Trust without something actually happening correctly. When we got to 10 points, nothing happened. I'm not sure if there was more game or anything.
I really liked the atmosphere here. Only being able to focus on one thing at a time felt like an appropriate drawback to help build tension.

Hahaha, glad you liked it. This was a MASSIVE challenge for us, since none of us was that well versed with the horror genre.
During the jam (and even now) I lost complete internet service, which made it a lot harder to reference documentation and make steadier progress. Literally had to make the submission through my phone. A bad 'roll of the dice' if you will, haha.
I also didn't get to playtest it at all, so bugs were totally expected. Considering how much trouble we had, I'm happy with what we got, haha.
I'll hopefully have time left to check out yours once my internet service gets restored.
Unique take on this theme. I really like this game. Its really in-depth considering it was made in a week! Audio is also decent, not amazing but not awful. The dialogue is really good. I love the way you can look around, maybe some easter eggs could make it a little spookier if this game does get a full release. Graphics aren't too fantastic either but nothing was out of place or jarring. Again, passable. My main problem is that I found myself getting stuck sometimes (After I clicked betray) where the dialogue would just not continue and I couldn't finish the game.
TL;DR: Very impressive for a game made in one week, might need some bug fixes though.
