Loosely, I had the idea of an adventure within dreams. Fighting nightmares and such.

Great job on this submission! I thought your art and gameplay were mechanics were very well done. The only feedback I would like to give is to provide a score meter or some way for the player to see progress. Overall this is very well done!

Nice little game ! The graphics are gorgeous, the sound design is simple but efficient, and I really enjoyed the diversity of enemies, that really brings some gameplay changes instead of being just cosmetic.
I would have enjoyed a bit of music during gameplay, and aiming was a bit hard: the projectiles are quite slow and it's not obvious where the character will shoot from.
But despite these two little things, that's still a nice and enjoyable game, congratulations =) !

Generally, I was aiming a it too high because i thought the feathers would come out from the middle of the book, aligned with the bookmark.
I guess they come out from the center of the sprite, but the top being mostly transparent, it was a bit hard to judge ^^'.
I see. Your logic makes sense. I'll have to tweak this.
I liked the mario kart shells mechanic used in a side scroller. It was a neat idea. I agree with most of the comments here, but I think it's worth repeating that this game has great visual feedback. Nice job!

The pixel art is absolutely fantastic, well done! I do like how there was a sense of progression as I did notice some enemy variety and some increase in enemy presence as I went along but it did feel like the rate they were happening was a bit slow. I do think there needed to be some sort of clarity to what the goal was as there was no score system or progress meter to determine what I should be doing. I get the sense this was more of an endless runner so I do believe some sort of scoring system would work out for the game. With that said I do think you created a solid foundation that only needs some slight adjustments, great job!
Thanks for playing and the feedback! The game is not an endless runner, but there is no indication of the end goal (a boss fight) and what to expect either. Initially I envisioned the environment and music would change over time and you would enter a storm cloud. Scoring system could also be a thing and others have suggested that as well.
Nice art, the enemies death animations and sound are perfect!
Some kind of progress to the game would be nice, for example harder enemies as time passes or something.

Thanks for playing and the feedback! Variety could certainly be a thing in the future. I kind of intended the end boss to be the goal here, but there is no clear indication of it existing in the first place.
Love the graphics! Good base to build upon.
Wished the game was faster, more action. Took way too long to get to the boss at that pace. I was getting bored and actually wondering if there was a boss or if it was just infinite.

Yeah, I was pondering whether the game would be too slow. I ran out of time to add more content, tough I had a spawning system in place.
I'll think about the pacing for a post-jam update.
