How does you game fit the theme?
In the game, you can collect mushrooms that allow you to hallucinate, which changes the way you see and interact with the world. Despite not being real, your hallucinations have significant effects on the way things behave and they may hide information from you.
Did you write all the code and made all the assets from scratch?
All of the code is original. All of the visual assets are original. Some audio assets are original and some are sourced from freesound.org

I can see where you were going with the game but it mostly left me confused, I think baking a tutorial into the game would really really help new players get into it. Great submission overall though :D
Agreed, definitely. I'll probably add that once rating ends; time constraints unfortunately meant I had to settle for the "wall of text" approach.
Can't figure out how to pick items, even after reading all the 3 pages of the instructions (which is too much) and the mouse position and the player facing position dont match. Cool game
Great game. I love the whole concept about it and with the limited given time you still manage to add all these different mechanics it really makes the game more fun and interesting to play. Well executed!
Awesome game! The art is very good and the concept is insane!
P.S: I rated your game, it would make me super happy if you rated mine :)
amazing! really immersive, great survival gameplay while tying in to the theme with the hallucinogen mechanic! i really liked the graphics :D
very asthetic game! congratz! in the beginning you felt a little lost, but once you get a mushroom the switch really was a suprising element. I really would like to see more development of this idea of two worlds. keep up the good work!
Very cool game, I love the concept of the hallucinations! It was a little overwhelming jumping straight into it, cause there was a surprising amount of depth here for a game jam game. Good work!
I really hope this gets developed more, I really love the survival side of it a lot. Kinda hard to play because it's a small window and when maximized it kinda glitches but man I want this game xD
I love it, good job! ^^
Really interesting game, had some problems not being to click on things in full screen mode, but in windowed mode it wal allright
Rated your Game !!! can you check out mine too? It'd be a huge help if you do rate mine!,
Thank you so much!
here's mine: https://itch.io/jam/brackeys-7/rate/1415313
Thanks! I'll check it out.
Insane game with an insane amount of content. You can craft, place items, manage health and starvation, can kill enemies for loot, plus the mushrooms :). My only remark is the controls used, and maybe the cost of having more inventory. In the controls, simply a logic of normal clicking an item to get to the inventory would be way nicer, to craft maybe some UI if possible, and you are golden! 5 stars on everything for me! The audio was the right amount of scary, as well as the overall theme, until mushrooms :)
I'm glad you liked it! A crafting interface and more interactive UI was part of the plan at first, but I had to drop it due to time constraints (which is why all the menus are controlled with keys). I'll probably add that in a later build once the jam is over.
Fun game, even though I couldn't open it in full-screen mode. It was hard to understand the controls.
The controls are a little weird but I feel like once you get used to them they become pretty natural. The game also breaks a bit if you try to play it on full screen. Other than that great submission!
Very interesting! The mouse controls were a little tricky to get into, but once you get it, you get it. Love the artstyle.
Great work! the game was very well made and the it has very interesting gameplay!
Well... I for sure didn't expect that !
The game is very surprising and full of mechanics ! Took me a little while to understand what to do and how but it sure is fun & challenging !
Little bug on the pick up click whene you're in fullscreen, vut appart from that the games play well !
good job :)
What a ride! It took me by surprise when it went from a very dark place to a colorful dreamland, the creatures are very well designed. I enjoyed the game overall, well done!
A very cool, in-depth game. I was surprised by just how many mechanics there were; while it took me a few minutes to get used to the control, after a while I found it to be fairly intuitive and and lot of fun.
I have just a few criticisms that may enhance the experience. First, the cursor detection is offset whenever the game is in full screen mode, making it hard to click on nearby objects. Second, the edges of the tilemap are noticeable at the ends of the map; to make this look a little smoother, I would recommend filling out the space and then adding trees/fog to mark the edges of the level. And finally, the audio could use a little cleaning up; I did enjoy how eerie some of the sounds were, though!
With that said, I thought the crafting/weapons system was very fleshed out, the enemy AI was good, and the contrast between the real and imaginary was cool. Very impressive!
Glad you liked the game! The fullscreen thing seems to be something I just missed, and it should be a super easy fix. After the jam is over, I probably will put some more work into the audio. That was probably the most turbulent part of this game's development
I really like the whole idea of gameplay. Managing your resources is quite a challenge and the flashlight gives just the right amount of claustrophobia. The animal sounds are a nice indication of their proximity.
Controls could be improved, when playing on full screen, the in-game pointer is not in sync with the actual mouse position. Also, I couldn't figure out how to drop some fur to make room for meat before I starved.
Overall, a fun experience and promising idea, would love to see a more polished version later. Please let me know if you plan to release a "full" version. :)
Glad you liked it! Yes, I probably will touch it up at some point in the future. There's a lot of things I'd like to do without the restrictions of the time limit.
