The music and character sprites are very nice! The tutorial sadly didn't work for me (couldn't move), but luckily the game itself did. The controls are very hard, so I couldn't beat the game. I like the cut-scene at the beginning!

How does you game fit the theme?
You are in an unreal world, trapped by Evils trying to get you stuck in your nightmares. You need to wake up and go back to reality !
Did you write all the code and made all the assets from scratch?
Yes all from scratch, songs and audio made by myself, the cinematics, and the scripts
@bakuhatsu.sensei on instagram made the icon, sprites, and helped with the idea

The art was very nice, the music was ok to the point, i tried many times to beat the game but the controls wasnt accurate, still had fun playing it.
It seems really polished but for the platform game this movement isn't enough precise. Although other aspects are nicely done. It's a pity for the graphics that with that beautiful character you have that platforms, it's contrasting. Although it's a great entry, nice tutorial, cheers and keep it up! ;)
I love the artstyle, very amazing pixelart with suitable post-processing... However, the bosses didn't really match the style of the rest of the environment. The muisc was quite soothing and subtle, and not repetitive. The game itself is really hard... I tried playing with my brother where he controlled the mouse and I only had to focus on platforming, but alas, only 7/20... I suggest for the backwards move to scale with the speed of the camera, because we cannot move backwards when we miss a spirit. The tutorial was nice... But I think to make the hearts more useful, and make the game easier, is that once you fall you only lose 1 heart and can respawn... I appreciate the procedural generation, very cool very pog, the platforms had good spacing and consistency, but not repetitive, it's just that the camera speeds up too fast. Overall great game!
I love how the hearts look, the have kind of a Kingdom Hearts vibe going on. The gameplay reminds me of some levels in Rayman 1 on the Playstation 1, which I loved as a kid.
Well done, cool game!
I love your art style! The detailed pixel art is very aesthetically pleasing, and I can definitely tell you put a lot of effort into your lore! One thing I would give another look would be the player movement! The jumping feels a little floaty, and I think having the player move forward with the screen makes adjusting your movement difficult! But I love how you were able to make randomly generated levels! It's a very cool concept! I hope you plan to do more with it after the jam! Great work!
nice music and visuals! I like the indicator of where you will shoot and how the projectiles look with their trails. Very nice work!
I liked the visuals and the music. the controls felt slight harder at first so it took bit time to get used to, jump sometimes feels unresponsive and the intro seemed a bit longer, but after slight fixes I'm sure it'll feel really amazing. (btw i'm doing the 50th rate, feels nice)
I really like the visual style. the music was nice but I wish I could have adjusted volume. But I know how annyoing it is to implement in time sometimes haha.
The backstory was pretty cool! And once I got a decent handle on the controls, the boss fight was really fun. I did find it a bit hard to control though, the ever moving screen was definitely a challenge, and would be a welcome one if it weren't for the slide-y-ness of the character. The idea of no-jump tiles and high jump tiles was also really cool, but the high jump was almost too high at times. Overall, though the vibe of it was really neat!
It probably needed a bit more time in the oven. I think the idea was pretty good, and I particularly like the visual design of the introduction, cover image, and bosses, but the controls are frustrating to command and, as some other reviewers have pointed out, the colored rectangles for the level objects aren't the most attractive thing in the world. I will say that the procedural level generation was pretty good and it took me a while to notice the pre-made segments.
You've made a lovely game! The intro was just a little bit slow and could probably benefit from slightly faster text speed (or something like autocomplete text on click), but I love the ambience, the art and the music! The story you set up was also quite interesting c:
Love the art and the audio, contributes to giving the game a lot character! I like the intro story, but I would have liked it more if it fit into the gameplay in some way other than just inspiration for the graphics.
I really wish I could like this game. Just feels unfinished. The jumping feels so unresponsive. The intro sequence and character graphics looked promising but the actual game fell flat. I wish I could also fast forward the text in the intro by clicking to complete. The pace was too slow and got bored so I skipped it.
Hey ! Thank you for your feedback !
The intro was slow to introduce the ambiance of the game, and there were a Skip button if you don't wanted to see it.
I tried to give to the game some diversity, where every single game is different with the 2 bosses and their own phases and caracteristics.
Please consider I only got 7 days to make everything for scratch incuding the audio, graphs and scripts.
I hope you can explain more precisely why it looks flat to you to improve my game !
Thank you very much !
Hey!
For the intro, I really wished to experience it. I didn't want to skip it but it felt frustrating to have to wait for the text to appear. I just wanted to click, read and move to next frame.
As for the levels, the art style seemed really good in the static images, even the player art is great, but, I mean, simple coloured line platforms, no background, etc. It just didn't do it for me.
Obviously, there's some time constraints, totally understandable. With more time, I'm sure you could make this game great.
Cheers!
Loved the graphics that you make, It looks really good. the gameplay itself is quite fun, an endless runner with a recurring boss and shooting mechanics. but there's a little bug on the jumping mechanics and the tutorial. when you spam jump, it will register the jump twice(or more) and make the player jump really high(and I abuse it to go further :D). and the second is the Tutorial, I can drag the Image that was used in the tutorial to the left/right but on the right/left of it is just black. I assume you want to make the player able to slide the image to look at the next part of the tutorial (or maybe not and it's just a bug) so I went back and forth between the menu and tutorial until I realize I have to click the circle :). Overall a really good game.
