In what way does your game fit the theme?
There is chaos, some objects spawn randomly and you cannot predict the outcome of the game. Every time you play the game the outcome will be different.

Did you write all the code yourself and made all the assets from scratch?
Yes, the codes were written from scratch with some Youtube tutorial help. The assets were also made by me.

I really enjoyed this game! The premise is very simple and the eel's movement was nice to just watch. A bit more variety in the obstacles would've been nice to see and the difficulty should ramp up smoother since it kinda goes from 0 to 100 right now. I would love it if you could also rate my game!

Thanks!

I'll check out your game when i get home.

Loved the animation of the lil' squid dude, very smooth.

The large enemy was a bit sudden though. Perhaps give some warning they're coming?

Developer

Thanks! Good idea. i should add it.

This eel thing is so smooth! It feels so good to just see it flow across the screen. The difficulty ramps up a little much with that giant sea creature that comes into the picture. Scared me the first time haha.

Thanks!

Awesome game! I love the deep water crazy scary creatures theme. The Huge Monster coming from the upper left actually scared me the first time I was playing. I just think it gets from ridiculous easy to too hard in a matter of seconds when the big monster comes out, but besides that, 10/10

Thanks!

I like the aesthetic and the giant beast that comes to eat you is terrifying.

Thanks!

Nice artstyle and atmosphere, very creepy. Halfway through my play, one of the smaller sharks was eaten by a bigger one haha, loved that.

Thanks!

Cool man, I am curious about how the characters tentacles were made. Was it a 3D mesh with some joints to capture the movement or another technique?

Developer

Thanks for playing it!

It was a line renderer with some script. It's not my idea, If you want to know how to make it yourself, check out a Yt channel called "BlackThornProd" he made a video about procedural animations.

Yes, yes, yes - I love that grim feeling, made by audio and creepy graphics. Very solid game! I can see some potential. Maybe clearer font/bigger world regions?

Developer

Thanks!

Great job - I was kind of bored at first but once a lot of enemies came on screen and things got chaotic, it really picked up and I enjoyed myself. I think if you can add some UI elements (pause screen, cleaner font / font color) this is a great product. Awesome job!

Developer

Thanks!

I'd like to play as you said nice things about my music, but is it really playable on mac like the page says? Can't find a file I can run

Developer(+2)

Sorry, i didn't even check if it can play on mac. I should fix that. I don't know how to help you. Sorry.

this is so cool it reminds me of blackthornprod

Developer(+1)

Thanks! well i  did  use his yt tutorial on procedural animations

Submitted(+1)

i used like particle systems to do it

check it out

Developer(+1)

oh i didn't think of that, i used line renderer and with some scripting it works.

very nice & cool game I liked the art, gameplay, atmosphere & the best thing is the trail, I wish you worked on having good music & sound effects but it's a great game, thank you for making us this great experience.

First and foremost, niceeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee, I adore the deep sea and I'm equally fascinated and terrified by it in real life so I just couldn't resist playing this game.  The art design is minimalistic without being bland or uninteresting (it reminds me of Samurai Jack's art style, particularly AKU's fiery eyes and black silhouette which looks similar to the creatures in this game) so 5 stars on that.

The creaks of the old rusty metal adds to the creepy vibe to the game.

Also, I love how the game portrays there is always bigger fish in the sea but it was a bit disappointing you cannot lose the fish around 30 sec mark. I tried to make the bigger fish eat/ impale it on it spike but it just shoves it to the end of the screen.  (I think that was the point)

Around the 55 sec mark i saw the JAWS reference (dont know if it was intentional but was cool none the less)  and I did manage the get rid of the mean fishy that kept following me for a bit. (which was a relief)

Improvements try to remove the mouse cursor (to make the game more immersive) and make the screen much more dimmer (so it much more creepier, I played the game with low brightness and it was awesome experience),

PS: Let me know if you want to develop this game further. I'm interested if you want to collab.

Hi, thank you for such a detailed review :D      (i also love deep sea and the underwater type of stuff)

when i made the game i didn't really think about giving the player a chance to win, i tried to make him defenceless, but i think there should be a way to lose the smaller fish or to push it away for longer,  so the player gets some time to rest.

it wasn't a JAWS reference, but it might as well could be.

I tried to make a custom cursor, but i don't know how to do that (I could've watched a youtube tutorial). But i think to remove the cursor entirely is a better idea. With the screen brightness, yes i think I should have made a bit more darker, i also thing it maybe cool to make an animation for brightness that it  from time to the light gets dimmer (like in horror movies/films the lights blink/flicker).

I don't think i would work on this game alone, but with a collaboration i would be happy to work and improve the game.  We could collab (it would be my first)

Great artistic style, and I like the "flowiness" of the sea creatures.

Quite challenging.
