Would love if you play my game
Tiny nitpick but you forgot to put a space between "next" and "level" :P
Was the yellow square just to throw people off? it's not actually needed for this puzzle
A well designed game with simple but effective graphics, music was pretty bland and reminded me of Ricky & Morty when Jerry is listening to human music (reference here if you haven't watched it) but I didn't turn them off so while repetitive, it wasn't unpleasant.
I got a little stuck at level 7 but I'm not great with puzzle games.
Overall I had fun with this game and I don't really have any feedback outside of the music.
Making me replay my 4 deaths in a row is a bit strange as it just retracts from people actually engaging with your game, I don't know if this was a bug or intentionally designed that way. I'm guessing lives not going below 1 is also a bug?
Although I can see you tried to differentiate between the two character sprites, they are still way too similar and it kept taking a second or two to realise which one I am, a change of colour/saturation would have definitely helped.
Graphics are simple but pleasant, music does it's job but would have liked an option to adjust the volume of it and the game fits the theme well.
I'll be sure to check you game out and give it a rating :) this is my first jam too so I'd love to know what you think :D https://reca117.itch.io/wind-drive-rewind
It's a fun game but my opinion is that you've made a mistake by building something that involves a car and not having a reverse function and I'll explain why.
I got so annoyed when I kept planting into an object and just having to sit there waiting for time to run out. This turned it from a driving game into a ring location/map memory game so you don't overshoot your mark or hit random objects in the path like lamp posts, a few rings were so close to the turning for the next one that you had very little time to maneuver and line up for tight gaps and if you fudged it then you were stuck staring at your mistake for x seconds.
On the other hand I understand why you DIDN'T include a reverse, the car functions like those toy cars that you used to wind up and let them fly. One idea off the top of my head is that you could have made the key both charge the car and control its direction by having reverse as counter clockwise, I think that's the implementation I would have gone for personally and would have also followed the 'rewind' theme.
Despite that, the graphics and music you have used compliment the game well, the programming itself seems to be pretty solid and its a great first jam submission so good job.
There honestly needs to be more information or something, I have absolutely no idea what to do with the dog that chases the agent, I've looked around and can't find anything to deal with the dog, there's no interact option on it and I have no weapons as far as I can tell.
You need to have visual clues to help the player understand the developers ideas and motives. Remember that people are playing a lot of games in a game jam and most people will only repeat a game from the very beginning 4 or 5 times max before they move onto the next game.
I really like the graphics that you created, everything is clean, fits together well. I think the perspective of the sidewall starting area sidewalk is too long though compared to the rest of the level.
I'll try your game right now. Thank you for taking time. My game, The Case of the Deviant Detective, will probably take around 10 minutes. It's a puzzle game where you play as a detective who rewinds witness tapes in order to tamper with them. Hope you like it and thanks for playing! https://itch.io/jam/brackeys-4/rate/722658
A 3d third-person action game with realtime rewind & combat mechanics at its core! I'd appreciate you checking it out :)
https://hadilepanda.itch.io/corewind
want to play this short platformer https://itch.io/jam/brackeys-4/rate/724639
The game definitely needs a crosshair or something, its pretty much a necessity for any game that has a gun in it.
I don't understand the endless runner style level being in a 3rd person action game as it just feels out of place and breaks the immersion, the whole time I was wondering why I went from a free moving 3rd person tutorial to this style and which of the two is actually the game I'm going to be playing. It also takes away time that your users could be spending seeing the real open area level that you designed as people won't stick around on your game for very long in a jam, 15 minutes is optimistic unless its very well made or really unique. Also if you are going to make an endless runner style map, create a collider that only the player interacts with to keep them inside the area, don't kill them because they got too close to the edge.
The player models arms are way too long, he can touch his toes with a straight back haha
I liked some of the particle effects you made and the aesthetics of the tutorial level actually had a good atmosphere, a couple of bits looked out of place but it was good overall and the music you selected fit the levels.
This was actually harder than I thought it would be when I first looked, I liked the melancholy music combined with the visuals. The controls felt nice to use and the puzzles were a good level of difficulty.
I am not sure what I was meant to learn at the end though, was it that when he says about getting more screwed to learn about himself, It's implying that hes stuck in an endless loop?
https://itch.io/jam/brackeys-4/rate/723746
Try RELOOM! - a simple puzzle game combined with some platformer jump n run components.
Check it out!
I really like the visuals albeit maybe a little bit too much post-processing for my eyes lol, music is good and everything is clean. I especially liked the lighting being effected by the boxes I placed.
An absolutely must for any puzzler game is a way to restart quickly, players shouldn't have to jump off a ledge to restart the level.
Were you checking for objects above before allowing jump? the jump kept stopping and starting and the only times it happened was when objects were above me to my left or right.
Not bad, it could do with a bit more variation in all area though.
Sometimes there wouldn't be anything new in the scene and it actually looked like you are standing still which kept messing with me. The music was quite plain and repetitive, I think you could have found a much better track suited to your game with a little looking in the right places as well as a sound effect for your character.
The programming itself was pretty solid, I didnt get any whacky physics going on when being tipped over by ramps etc
You gave everyone here such an insightful feedback. You're such a great person, wow! I will check out yours in the next few days (im on my mobile now) and would also be honored to get constructive criticism :)

Hope you like it!
Great game, its like INK except its my blood instead :L
I kinda get why you have the character do the first run blind but I think it would help rather than hinder the gameplay if you flashed it on screen and then let people do their first run otherwise it feels like I'm having my time wasted for the hell of it, I could plan a pretty good path just based on the level layout but that's not a perfect system.
Also, if you're going to make the player chain jump combos like this then you should be using an input buffer on controls imo. Otherwise players end up pressing the jump button at what looks like the right time to them and then fall down... this is what people actually mean when they complain about games having 'imprecise controls' even though code is actually TOO precise. The game can still be made hard by having a very short input buffer like 2 frames and feel so much better to control. Its only prominent on wallhopping from left to right and vice versa though so it was manageable.
Visuals are great, the music fits well but can get a bit repetitive after a while and I love the weird little character creature, the blood stains to serve as a visual aid was a really good idea as well
Overall really good job, I had fun playing this (apart from the level above)
P.S if you want to see a working example of input buffering then let me know, I use it in my game to solve a completely different problem with blend tree animation
The game is quite difficult if you plan to use your S key with the ice skating physics, pretty much requires you to either rewind afterwards or use the accelerate key in the other direction if you don't want to be ran over but I'm guessing that's intentional.
One problem to me is that you decrease player velocity while they rewind so if you don't keep pressing your direction keys then you will have to accelerate all over again and will probably get ran over. I would have personally made their speed carry over in this state or even stored their speed during those rewound frames.
I have no idea where Jams stand on copyright and trademark infringement but this game is definitely pushing its luck haha
The environment art is good but the character could use some work, can't say a lot about the music because its the actual BttF music as far as I can tell.
Here's mine: https://itch.io/jam/brackeys-4/rate/724929
I'd also appreciate it if you could leave some feedback.
It's a good idea but it needs more on the execution. At the moment you're missing any music, sound effects and doesn't offer much in changes of environment. I like the gameboy like aesthetics but it definitely needs more player actions, more sprites and some sound as I felt like I was just spending 1-2 minutes pressing a direction key every time.
It's a solid start for what could be a good game.
I really liked this game.
The art was good and I liked the little details added like the devils nose animating when hes annoyed.
Music was ok but I think more focus should be put into finding some truly great tracks rather than ones that sound like 10 second loops, your gameplay is centered around music afterall!
Good execution on the theme and it's only the second rhyme style themed game I've seen so far so it was a welcome break.
I would have preferred to be able to use QWER as my keys so I could play with 1 hand but this may not fit your vision when it comes to handling difficulty.
Ooh thanks so much, I really aprettiate your feedback, so glad you liked it. And yes i wanted to create longer and astoning tracks but in order to make it to the dead line i decided to create shorter loops and focuse on adding the difficulties and stuff.
Maybe in a future update i will add a feature to customize the keys :) because you are rigth i've placed it like that to keep up the difficulty jeje
Once again thanks so much for your feedback
oof, that was a tough one to play... my fingers couldn't handle playing that for long.
The players movement is very limited and there were often times an enemy would spawn to my right and two next to each other on my left so even dashing couldn't get me to safety. I'd definitely consider giving the player a bit more movement or a simpler control scheme.
The environment and player art was great, the enemies not so much :P
All the game needs is some nice enemy sprites and a control scheme that are more accessible.
Haha very nice game, I actually played with the idea of reversing the ageing process or devolution to get around as well but didn't think of a good execution for it, you definitely found a good execution.
The pixel art was great although the nurses could do with having limbs as they look like they are all wrapped up in blankets. I liked the music but the volume should have definitely been adjustable as this is a 2 minute implementation.
The gameplay needed a bit more to do as its almost a walking simulator at the moment, I managed to get locked out of the game here as well:
I tried shifting into baby form and holding right to no prevail.
Oh god... not another robot samurai fighting against falling bombs using rewind, so uninspired ;)
Its a cool little game but it definitely seemed like there were problems as the instructions say 'It maintains the relative position (and physic process) with respect to the previous quadrant' but I was definitely losing my relative position on more than one occasion which made the game more difficult.
The pixel art is clean and simple, the overall mechanics are good and well thought out and music is pretty typical of this style of game. Its just the execution (relative position) that needs a little work.
Oh I almost forgot, the aspect ratios need to be adjusted as well, full screen mode shoved the game into the top right of the screen.
Here try my game i will check yours out https://itch.io/jam/brackeys-4/rate/724639
You already posted before, my feedback was:
Sorry man but I can't really give you proper feedback. There's 3 problems with the jump that's making it so I cant even clear the first jump:
It’s math puzzle game. https://itch.io/jam/brackeys-4/rate/723165 It’s my first game and jam ever. Can You play and RATE it? If yes, please read description. (You can play in browser.) Pls write "rated" after You rate
Sorry but I'm not really in a position to rate this, I barely understand what pattern I'm expected to pick up on. instinct told me to go 4 and 1 on the first 2 levels but I have no idea why they were correct. the sequence on the 3rd level I was fine with understanding up until it went 8 1 etc then I had no idea what I was looking at.
Holy... I could have really done with a rotational sensitivity option or a closer view as I could not aim for shit! haha
As I started to play I thought to myself 'it would be pretty awesome if terrain was destructible so I could make my own shortcuts and then 1 minute later I was like 'wait, I can do that!' so I really like that feature
The instructions said to press 'R' for rewind but this didn't actually do anything for me, was I meant to collect something in order to use it or 'charge up' in some way? everytime I pressed it I just got a little 'twitch' and that was it whether I pressed or held.
There was no sound so can't really comment on that.
I can't say for certain without testing but I think with a bit of sound, lower rotation sensitivity & speed and a more zoomed in view, this game would be even better. I think the controls let it down as it felt really uncontrollable but that's just my personal preference and maybe others disagree.
I would like if you would play my game! https://itch.io/jam/brackeys-4/rate/724586
https://itch.io/jam/brackeys-4/rate/721163 I rated your game. I lowkey got a bit addicted
Rated! You could add like other employees that automatically help the player.
Anyway... here is my submission:https://itch.io/jam/brackeys-4/rate/720148 : )
Rated your game! It was really fun!

Hope you enjoy!
Here's mine: https://itch.io/jam/brackeys-4/rate/724955 I worked hard on it and this was also my first jam!
Hi! I've played (and obviously thus rated) your game, and I have to say: it was super fun to play! The store-employee experience seemed pretty authentic :) I would appreciate if you could play my game https://itch.io/jam/brackeys-4/rate/725001 as well!
Hi, nice idea to create a thread, I was writing comments in all the game I had played.. I have played also yours.
My game is https://itch.io/jam/brackeys-4/rate/719584 if you wanna try it and rate it would be great.
Thanks
I'm gonna copy my comment from your game's page:
This game stressed me out more than it probably should have, lol. I'm never good at these customer management games. But the theming was really nice, and once I got used to the gameplay loop it got fun to try and optimize it. I do wish that the customers went slower at the beginning, and curse that first customer that keeps on giving me three tapes!
If you're interested, here's my game: https://itch.io/jam/brackeys-4/rate/724444
This game is about a girl, trapped in her mind.
After a traumatic experience the girl has fell into coma.
Trapped in her dreams, she can't remember her past.
The pieces of puzzle are representing her memories, and every piece reminds her about the past
And when a piece is collected, she sees really what had happened, and the real steps she had taken.
Amazing! I would love to hear what you think about my game and what i sould work on as a programmer/ designer :D
