Using WebGL

I finished my game and am looking to upload it to itch, but my computer won't let me download WebGL. Will people play my game if it isn't in the browser? And if not, has anyone else solved problems with downloading WebGL on Mac?

Edit: I got WebGL downloaded and will post the itch link here after I set up the page. Thanks to everyone who helped!

Hi Jacjson, what engine are you using as I'm not sure what you mean by won't let you download WebGL?

You can definitely submit a game that doesn't play in the browser although people tend to prefer browser games when testing (so you will have a harder time getting ratings but you should be able to get the requisite amount imo if you build for pc and mac).

I'm using Unity. Whenever I try to download WebGL from inside Unity, it gives me this error:

And if I try to add the module inside the Hub, it either says 'installing modules (queued)' for an absurd amount of time, or just doesn't install it altogether.

What version of Unity are you using?

I have never seen that screen!  Is this something you see when you try to add the WebGL module after installing Unity?

I'd echo N8.Dev's question next, is this a recent version of Unity? Also I don't think you will see this if you select WebGL as a module to install when you are setting up your Unity version. I do use Unity on a Mac as well (though primary development is on PC).

yeah, I would recommend installing a newer version of Unity

I just did that, and it worked. Thank you!
