So, I'm a little bit tired, I've been working the whole day, on my 8 hours and on my game; so, I wanted to write something and take a brake.

After My first day of programming for the game jam, I was ready to make some desings, but I after writing that post I kept programming a little bit more to make a file manager and play sounds. After that, I went to bed, I couldn't sleep so I watched videos about making some voxel art, so when I got time today I could make some. I wanted to make it on the Pro Grids package, but I downloaded MagicaVoxel to make it, Blender to separate my character to finally animated on Unity. My whole day was on that and fixing my player movement. So I did 3 models: My character, a Pencil and a Recorder. This was kinda the progress:

So, what I did was

  1. Have the idea of what character I wanted.
  2. Get a Google image to make it.
  3. Translate that image to voxel art.

I'm pretty happy with my character, hope you like it.

The next thing I'm going to do is the tutorial, but before that, here's my character moving c:

Pretty basic, but she is happy running on the scene, how are you people going with your games?

I am doing fine, thank you.Your game are coming nicely together.

At the moment I am working on my Inventory's UI- elements, finished a cutscene for the intro of the game.

Looks great! What's your process when you develop a game? do you star with the mechanics or what do you do first after you came up with the idea

Thank you. The first thing I do, after an idea comes to me, is gather assets that goes with my idea, then plan my GDD, build my levels, create my UI and then look at core mechanics and flesh it out from there.

I'm more behind than I thought on mine, but ces't la vie. Your progress so far is awesome, looking forward to the end result!
