Yo’ Templar here,
Very cool game, really fun, both aesthetics and music fits it really well, the controls are a tad bit unresponsive at times, some people point out that it’s a little difficult, but it feels just fine to me.

I like the music of the tracks, the game is quite challenging .

Good job.

My game is a casual game if you wanna rate is https://misterm.itch.io/mixtape-match , Thanks

Interesting design. I like how the floor is always rotating! Since platforms and such are rotating, the physics feel really weird and the controls don't feel that responsive at times. Also, the background is a bit distracting whenever it follows the y position.

Other than that, the game is cool!

That big jump at the end of level 3 is daunting! Cute little platformer. Cool effect with the tapes in the background.

I once got pushed through the floor by a descending platform and cast off into a black  empty void. Well, empty but for the music, that is. Yeah!

Developer

Thanks for the kind words, hope you made the last jump and enjoyed your travel through the empty void even though the music was playing in reverse and you couldn't even enjoy that. Sorry for the bug :(

A cute little mouse. Good platforming, but it was a liitle difficult for me to estimate a jump distance)

Developer

Yeah, I think that happens cause the platforms rotate under you when you jump so they're never consistent like a true 2D platformer. Did anything else feel off like the air drag or lateral velocity of the jumps? Maybe it can be improved.

Awesome visuals and audio. Simple fun gameplay. But I have a question - Instead of making the mouse rotate, changing the gravity, other math heavy stuff, why not just make the level rotate around some center point and keep the player in one place?

Developer

That was the initial coding that I finished till Sunday night and was happy that I have time to polish it, but unfortunately there are a lot of issues cause you can't use normal movement scripts with physics and by forcing the level to rotate sometimes you would force the player into a wall and the colliders got stuck there, also it was hard to implement air drag. I still have mixed feelings which was the better choice.
P.S. now that I think of it maybe I can make the level be fixed centerwise and apply a tangent force to rotate it, but I guess the outcome would be the same right now

Awesome game.. loved playing it :)

I like how the theme fits in the game! Very clever!

Developer

Thank you for the kind words!

What a game, very polished and super fun. The audio choices were great. Well done.

Thank you for the kind words!

I like the aesthetic of your game. The controls were nice. Although I felt some difficulty with the moving platforms as the mouse didnt move with them. Otherwise it is a very nice game.

Interesting concept, and pretty fun to play, good work on the jam :) For moving platforms, it might be by design but I prefer making them sticky (attaching the colliders) so the player doesn't fall off when not moving :) I also think I found a bug, I got pushed through the world by a platform on level 3 (familiar with this problem too as it happened in one of my 2d platformers and I resolved it by using  platform effectors). good work, love the concept :)

Developer

Oh! Thanks for the tip, will look into that since now the platform is probably pushing the player collider through the ground floor. I agree that the player should stick to the platforms so if you have a tip for that as well, I'd appreciate it, will look into it myself to make it after the jam. Thanks once again!

Interesting, a fun simple platformer. The art style is really good, I like how each beat in a synthesizer software is also a platform. It feels like there's a great game mechanic you could have implemented. (Like the music is linked to the platform or something...)

I feel you man, having to spent a huge chunk of your time programming one crazy feature, only to find out you have no time left for the rest of the game.

Great work on the circular platformer, amazing programming feat!

Developer

Thanks for the feedback and I agree, there's a lot room left for improvement including Audio since that relates to the theme as well.

Cool concept!

Thanks for the feedback, yeah I think a lava/spike floor and a respawn system would have worked better and kept the game flowing, didn't think of that :(

Great theming, cool audio. would haev been sick if the track played in reverse or forwards depending on the direction you were moving.

Developer(+1)

Yeah that'a great idea that I was also thinking of but I don't understand Unity Audio system that well to implement it in time. I'll look more into it since for this game I reversed the tracks before hand and used either Play or Stop.

Submitted

Very stylish and innovative. Jumping is a bit hard to control but the rest of the game is great.

Developer

Thanks for playing it! I'll probably redo the movement post jam, I probably got used to it since I tested it so much and didn't think it was an issue.

Submitted

This is really cool, the movement is kinda clunky, but that's probably because of the circular level thing, other than that, I really liked this

Developer

Yeah, circular turns Unity Physics on its head especially for the most common player movement scripts but it can be improved and thank you for playing our game!

Very cool concept !

I found it quite hard but it would defnielty work as a mobile game

Developer

Yeah, I think the idea looked better on paper than what I could actually accomplish for the jam. Thanks for playing it!
