How does the game fit the theme?
The theme was "Nothing can go wrong...", so you have to protect the heart of Umay, or the fate of the newborns will be sealed.
Umay, the celestial mother goddess, descends from her divine realm to breathe life into newborns. During this sacred ritual, she offers her fragile heart to the statue, a gift of pure creation.
But in the shadows lurk the minions of the underworld god, dark beings who seek to shatter the heart and bring ruin to the innocent.
You are a devoted follower of Umay, blessed with divine speed and invulnerability. Protect the heart at all costs : intercept projectiles, open doors, and feed the heart to keep it alive.
The fate of the newborns lies in your hands.
What code and assets did you not make from scratch during the jam (if any)?
All the art & sound design are original creations, except the Special Elite Google font.
All was code from scratch using Unity, except the 2D pathfinding with NavMeshPlus plugin.

Cool art style and concept! I thought the gameplay idea was super fun, but it needs some tweaking on the controls and feedback to make it more satisfying
Pretty fun game! Wish it was longer
This was fun! Struggled a bit in the starting room figuring out the controls, but after that the game was pretty straightforward. I agree with some others that the contrast between the pencil character art and the pixelated level art is a little jarring, but other than that, the game looks, sounds, and feels great. Nice job!
I enjoyed playing this game, because It was really different from all of the other ones that I have tried so far. I enjoyed how it was more of protecting something else other than yourself
Wow that was really fun, had me scrambling at the end. Was really digging the music too, it set the tone nicely from the start. Very creative and great job all around!
These guys put more effort into their lore than the effort i put in my entire game lmao
Really like the art! The gameplay is simple but fun to play.
The art is really cool! The concept is really interesting and unique, I like how the player character is invincible, it made it way easier to keep the heart alive once I figured that out. Good job!
Art is great! I love the concept, a little nitpick here and there. First maybe bigger culling radius, sometime the heart and turret dissapear when I go too far. Last one is maybe variation, like trap that slow the heart or laser that you need to block. Overall nice concept and decent execution!
I like it ! Congrats ! I'd prefer only one art style, there is pixel and stylized cartoon-ish. But good job !!
Lovely implementation of the "Isaac's Heart". Very nice game, the art is also very pretty. Keep up the good work
I really love the character design !
Great music but I would prefer to have some variation, the game has some improvement to be done: collision can be better with the walls, the difference between hand drawn and pixel art, the enemies visual doesn't match with the lore, we should have more mechanics (trap, monster that grabs the heart and we need to free him, magnet that pulls the player). Of course, the game has a great concept but can be more developed. If it was your first game, good job, you have the loop of the game and tried to exploit the mechanics as much as you can. The balance is great, a good idea to shut the door until we learn how to interact with object.
That's a clever take on the escort mission concept! A couple more weeks and this could be a really great experience!
(Leaving a comment in the right spot this time!)
I love the idea of using yourself as a shield throughout the game! It adds to the lore quite nicely. I'd love to see the art style of the cover be implemented into the assets of the game, and maybe some variation with the threats to the heart. I think this is a swell game in and of itself with a ton of ways it can be taken further! Great job!
Great concept for a game! Leading a fragile heart into safety, and using your body as shield.
The gameplay is quite simple but quite challenging as there are a lot of turrets in each level, and sometimes you gotta make the hard decision of letting the heart take a bit of damage to progress further.
I love the art of the main character and Umay herself, although I find it a little strange that the main character is hand-drawn the levels are pixel art.
Either way, this was an entertaining experience, good job!
I like the visuals and concept of this!! The music and SFX were also really enjoyable. The game overall feels pretty polished
Awesome concept and I love the art of Umay
Though I should add: I had to mess with my keyboard to find the Interact button E, and I didn't know I could dash until I searched for controls in the description, I think these things should be noted in-game, for exaple as just simple text pop-ups at the start
Fun game mechanic, although I'm not fond of gods and goddesses as a concept...
Nice artwork of the main char! I didnt get the levers are levers at the beginning, thought its mortar and pestel and tried to interact with the chilis xD but once you got the concept of opening new rooms and escorting the heart its a sweet game. Take the concept further and you might be on to something here! ;)
