A very detailed and well-executed puzzle/escape game!

I really enjoyed the inspection mechanics, which involved different types of clue-searching that were cleverly interconnected. It was engaging to switch between cameras, the map, chats, and files while trying to figure out an escape route.

That being said, the computer interaction was particularly well done, both in terms of storytelling and its use of visuals and sound.

Great entry!

Developer

Thank you so much for the detailed and lovely feedback you made our day with your praises <3

We knew that this game wouldn't be for everyone, with all the text to read, clues to listen to, deductions to make, but we had a blast linking everything together and then planting everything into the computer, so we're delighted that some people liked it :)

I love the idea of forming your escape plan before executing it, and the computer interface works really well for gathering that information. The escape plan gradually filling in it also done really well. Would be awesome to see a longer version of this where you're having to jump from safe place to safe place with new plans each time.

The visuals and storytelling are also done really well. Stumbling through emails and chat logs works really well for this. Nice job!

Developer

Thank you so much for the detailed feedback, we really appreciate it!

We're glad you enjoyed coming up with your escape plan and hope you could make it out in time :D

Interesting idea, having to go from one safe space to another!

WOAH, this was really nice!!! So much content and the computer interface is nice to use. Reallly loved this one, so many funny dialogs and texts, I loved the whole idea, and the whole game was really smooth. It would be amazing if there was a polished up version of this game in the future.

Good job, keep up gamedev!

On behalf of the Fenetres4.20.15 dev team, we appreciate you enjoying using our computer OS, hahaha :D

Thank you very much for the nice review, it warms our heart! We will definitely keep doing gamedev, follow us to see our next jam entries :D

I had fun playing this one! I love the finding clues from computer part and how it looks on the tab clues board. Also I appreciate the effort on doing voice acting on the voice notes not a lot of games do that in jams!

Developer(+1)

Thank you for your nice review!

We always try to add some voice acting in our game, I think it really adds something to a game, even a small one! (Also, I really enjoy recording some voice lines, hahaha)

Loved the game, I was amazed with how fluid it ran, wasn't choppy at any point. The audio was a bit lacking but otherwise it was a stellar submission. Great job!

Developer(+1)

Thank you very much! Some parts of the game are a little bit rough around the edges, but we had to make due with the deadline unfortunately :D

Submitted(+1)

Loved the visuals and  atmosphere, the computer feels better than my own

Developer

hahahaha, thank you so much!

Fenetres4.20.15 is an OS made with love, that's why it feels so good <3

Really enjoyed messing with the virtual computer and the humour bits! This was a well thought out game and I'm glad I played it!

Developer

Thank you very much for the review!

As the person who spend basically the entire week creating the computer, I'm very glad you enjoyed messing with it :D

Incredibly tense and immersive! Loved the retro interface, humor, and clever design. A hint system would be helpful, but overall, fantastic work!

Developer

Thank you for the praise, good to know the immersion worked on you!

It might not be super visible, but you can open a recap of all the important stuff you've discovered while browsing the computer by pressing the "Tab" key, just letting you know :)

So cool concept! I liked the aspect of preparing and then doing everything as fast as you can a lot!

Enjoyed it very much!

Developer

Thank you very much, we're glad you liked it!

Hopefully you made it outside alive :D

Great job man ! loved the details, some humour even the alarm music is great !

Developer

Thanks! Nice to see our stupid humour resonates with some people :D

And good job noticing the inclusion of the alarm itself into the music, good ear!

An escape room game is a perfect fit for the theme! The blaring alarm, the intense music, the gas vapor filling the room, you managed to create such an immersive and anxiety inducing atmosphere, awesome job!

Developer

Thank you so much for the kind comment!

We tried our best to make an immersive atmosphere so it's good to know at least someone experienced it :)

Nerve-wracking experience! So good! The level design is very good in my opinion.

Developer

Thank you for the nice feedback, glad you enjoyed our game!

I love the concept of this, and I can only imagine the amount of creativity that went into planning out all of the dialogue, very well done!

Developer

Thank you very much for your lovely comment, it means a lot to us!

We're glad you enjoyed our little game :)

I am giving you 5 stars and I have only clicked on the Start button... this is next level.  Setting the bar too high here for a new guy like me, very inspirational!
If I could I would give you 10/5 stars on the visuals....  this is all I can do!

Now I am going to go play the game lol

Developer

HAHAHAHA, thank you so much for your comment, it really made my day <3

Don't be so hard on yourself though, our first games were... Far from where we are now, let's say ^^'

We hope you enjoyed our game! :)

Cool visuals and neat game idea! Enjoyed it! I'd appreciate if you also looked at my submission. :)

Developer

Thank you!

Great idea and you got me on the monitor and good old start button in the computer. Good job.

Developer

Thank you very much!

We had a blast recreating the look and feel of Windows95, feeling the nostalgia, so we're glad it resonated with you as well :D

Submitted(+1)

So cool, love this style of game. A bit long to read every documents but the escape part is pretty fun to remember !

Developer

Thank you for your feedback!

There are quite a few things to read, yeah, but we tried to make some parts funny so that it would entice you to keep reading :D

Submitted(+1)

Oooh.. love the attention to detail on the OS, the chat history... I am also a sucker for voice over. Really well chosen music, floor plan that is just confusing enough that the lab isnt trivial to map mentally!

Developer

Thank you so much!

As a fellow voice over fan, I can only agree with you, we try to add it to as much of our games as possible, glad it's appreciated :D

(Don't tell my partner who wrote the music himself that we just "chose" it, he'd be mad, but shhhhh)
