How does your game fit the theme?
There is a storm every 60 seconds which regens the bosses health and distracts you with its vibrant red color and thunder noise so it might seem like a normal flappy bird but the storm makes it way more intense.
Did you write all the code and made all the assets from scratch?
I followed a tutorial from GameDev with Drew and used AI services for debugging any problems. Also Gwizz on youtube had awesome tutorials on main menus and exporting the game to HTML. Thanks to Pixabay and Universfield on Pixabay for their royalty free sound effects. The music of the game is AI generated and all the pixel art assets are made by my friend Federico.

the screen size made the game a tad too difficult, but i like the art and the simple premise. nicely done
The music of this game was great, as was the pixel art! Mr. Mustachio will fall in front of my POWERS!
I did have problems with the resolution, but once that was sorted out (I downloaded it using the itch.io app), it worked well.
The small screen size made the game experience a bit difficult but overall its great to replay flappy bird in the stormy setting. Good job!
I'm bad at this haha! Fun little game :)
I mean it's flappy bird, but a cooler reimagination of it. Would have liked some sort of checkpoints, really frustrating having to start over.
Also the screen size is really small, a fullscreen option would be nice.
We are currently working on making the game better for a future full release with fullscreen and even though we are not planning on any sort of checkpoint system there will be difficulty settings so you will be able to make the game easier or harder depending on your preference. Thank you for commenting!
Nice job bringing it all together! I do agree with the screen resolution comments, but good work overall. ^-^
Had a problem as other people with the resolution, but overall it was fine. I think the game needs more gameplay mechanics, it gets repetitive reaally fast.
Nice idea of remaking flappy bird. Also, nice graphics!
I sadly couldn’t really have a full experience because the game was a very very small size though…
More inovative than the future Flappy Bird "Remake"
Hope that you'll also play mine :) https://itch.io/jam/brackeys-12/rate/2973690
I couldn't play the game well because screen size was really small and I think it didn't correspond to the original resolution of your game. It seemed pretty fun though, if you solve that problem with the screen size, let me know, I will probably give it another try. I will rate the game anyway, keep going :)
Edit: I managed to resize the game by zooming the screen. I was hoping to see a boss appear or something but nothing happened, maybe I couldn't get far enough and it's my fault, if that's the case I'd really like the boss to appear earlier so it's not so repetitive at the beginning. Good job!
I think there has been a misunderstanding, the bosses are the enmies on the screen which get progresivvely harder for now, but we are also planning on making a real boss whenever you hit a certain amount of points.
Ahh, ok so that was the bosses life, thanks for the information! I thought It was the amount of points you needed for the boss to appear and that's why I was a bit confused. Well, good job on the game afterall!
You can make this change without editing the game, in itch.io you have the wrong canvas size. You may want to change it to 400px by 800px instead of 300px by 600px in itch.io game settings. I actually skipped this game at first when I saw it a few days ago as I was unable to play it at all, but then I found a way to force resize the game to the correct size, then was able to play it. I guess if someone zoomed in on your game page that might wort of work too, but if someone didn't do either of those two things, they probably weren't actually able to play your game correctly, or at all.
I liked this game a lot actually. One thing is I think you may have enough content here that once it gets to the boss phase, it may be helpful to put a checkpoint there so the other part doesn't have to be redone again after dying. Even if you don't think you have much after that, I think it's enough that putting a checkpoint there may be better than starting over, since starting over may discourage some players from trying the game again.
Also, there's something exciting about the game, but having to do the first part may again get repetitive unless I felt like doing a challenge or something. I guess it may benefit from the default mode to be with checkpoints and without a score as it is now, and perhaps a challenge mode where it restarts you whenever you die and maybe even keeps a score, resetting it to zero when you die.
Either that, and/or maybe it benefits from additional improvements like having a few lives, perhaps some other things as well to improve it and keep the gameplay engaging.
However I really liked your game once I figured out how to be able to see the full area of the screen properly with a workaround and be able to play it.
Thanks! I will definitely check out the canvas size problem. Also thank you for the amazing feedback and reccomendations for the game.
Didn't see any bosses anywhere and the game doesn't properly resize (I had to zoom my screen in to play)
Good concept but I think the game was accidentally cropped and I barely see the incoming objects, but good one !
Nice consept but the gameplay is super hard! I wish i could see more screen to have more room to predict where to jump. Otherwise cool game!
Hey! Fun game, it was hard for me at first but I kept playing until I got the hang of it and made it to the storm. I like the idea but it would be cool if you added more distractions like maybe a screen shake or lightning pipes that appear after an indicator. Overall nice job!
Nice game! its really hard... i dont know if the small window was on purpose or my browser bugged ot smth but it was still fun!
Great game! Loved the flappy bird mechanics though some times it was a bit hard to not run into the pipes, well done :)
Nice implementation of the Flappy Bird formula! I like the idea of the storm and having bosses, but in the current game it doesn't change how the game is played at all.
Thanks for sharing with my stream! Here's the VOD to your game: https://www.twitch.tv/videos/2254453937?t=00h31m04s
Thank you for streaming our game! I do not know what happened with the screen sizing but I will check it out. In the future we are planning on adding more stuff to the storm, like the game getting faster and maybe something to the bosses but we did not really have the time for it this time. Thank you for the feedback!
I liked the game! A different approach to Flappy Bird-like games. Good job!
the bosses are humorous! Love flappy bird as always!
