How does your game fit the theme?
Each door is a different path to walk through with its own secrets. And this is your duty to discover what's behind the door.

Did you write all the code and made all the assets from scratch?
We used a couple of assets for the base and wrote everything else ourselves from scratch.

Yeah... B is for "Balancing".
Seriously, I really wish it was present in any way, so I could get more from all other game aspects being so polished, But that implies that all doors still need to be doable choise, while being "the worst" choise..)

Otherwise, as I already said - visuals, sfx, ux, player movement - all top-notch, especially for a one week game, gj.

Also, starting dialog needs to be skippable after the forst time, but I assume you just didn't have enough time for some of such small details, completely understandable.

Good job! Loved the art style and the gun feel.

Very cool concept!
Cannot wait to see how you expand this!

Submitted(+2)

Awesome game! I really enjoyed the DOOM-like style and the cool movements. It's quite challenging, but here's a small suggestion: consider adding an option to skip the starting dialogue after dying once. It takes a bit of time to get back into the action. Overall, great job!

nice

Nice game! Gives me vibes of portal + doom. Really love the movement. It is too much fun to run and jumppeek around corners

Developer(+1)

Thanks for the feedback! We took inspiration from doom, portal and quake to make this game! I'm happy that you used this OP strategy to fight the enemies:)

Woah, this was smooth! The menu design and ambient synthwave music was a nice touch, but the movement and gunplay feels super polished! It also has an outro, which is rare. I managed to pick the worst possible door at first, but conquared it in the end 😁 I think it's one of the best games I tried this jam, congrats to the team!

Developer(+1)

Thanks for such a nice review! We are glad you enjoyed our game, this was our first jam!

Good FPS I did pretty well in your testing program :D Even though i picked the worst door!

Developer(+1)

Thanks for the review! We're glad you had fun conquering these doors! To be honest, the voice is a huge troll and he tries to scare you no matter what door you are going to pick:)

Submitted(+3)

The gunplay is superb, I often found myself peeping around courners for a bit and shooting the turrets until they noticed me then hiding back XD. I love that the responsive controls make that possible! I kept running out of bullets lol (my terrible aim) but I had loads of fun playing through each room!

Developer(+1)

Thanks for the review! We are glad you had fun playing our game! I think you found nice strategy to deal with enemies:)

Submitted(+3)

Had fun, I know the FPS and turrets asset, it's a really good base to do FPS games, nicely implemented!

Developer(+1)

Thanks! It was really good base for our idea, we had much more time to construct levels and create some mechanics!

Submitted(+3)

Fun game. It was a little to hard for me, i tried all three doors and died each time. Everytime it said it was the worst choice too lol if that was intended then it was funny. controls are smooth and gameplay was smooth. i like the enemy animations and the ai controlling their movement felt good too.

Developer(+1)

Thank you for the feedback! Yeah, that line was intended, the voice kinda trolled everybody:) We're glad you enjoyed the gameplay and idea overall!

Submitted(+3)

That's a great game. A little bit challenging which I loved. Awesome!

Developer(+1)

Thank you for your feedback! We are glad you liked it:)

The fusion of Portal and Quake elements presents a thrilling concept with heaps of potential. Currently, the game's challenge level requires a slower pace than expected. Slowing down enemy projectiles, especially from drones, could enhance the experience. Introducing bunny hopping could add an exciting dynamic. There's definitely a solid foundation here with great promise.I love it! great job !

Developer(+1)

Thanks for the review! You are right about game difficulty, it's really takes some skill to complete some levels. The main idea is there are lots of doors and some doors are just harder than the other:D If you died in one door, you can always try another one. Also thanks for great advice about slowing projectiles, this idea definitely has a point!

Submitted(+2)

In the second level when you take the right door theres a hole in the map and you can fall through, just an fyi you might wanna fix it

Developer(+1)

Thank you for the report, but it's fine. This hole lets the player to know that there is a hall on another side of the abyss, and you should look for other ways to get there:D

A really fun experience and i have nothing negative to say about this game. You did a great job there

Developer(+1)

Thanks for your feedback! We are really glad that you enjoyed our game!

I love the way those drones look! Good job!!!

Developer(+2)

Thanks for the review! The models of drones were from one of the free assets we have used, but we retextured the models and made them compatible to our light implementation. Now it looks much better!

Honestly really impressed by this game! to think this was your first Game Jam is kinda phenomenal. Everything was polished and the docs were well made to help explain the game further. I did find not being able to skip the audio tedious but the player movement was so clean and enjoyable to use, same with the gun gameplay. A lot of others have mentioned the difficulty which I can agree with but I don't necessary think that is a bad thing, potentially adding a difficulty option could relieve this issue. Great Game!

Developer(+2)

Thank you for such sweet review! We had a gigantic motivation to participate in Brackeys Game Jam and it was definitely worth it! I've never had such experience in my life. I'm really glad that we have done it in time, we submitted the game about a minute before the deadline. To be honest, we thought about making dufficulty levels and opportunity to skip the intro part of every level, but didn't have enough time to do it.

Submitted(+3)

I enjoyed this, the voice-over set the mood and had me immersed in the game. Enemies shot me for more health than I could find :P and kept running out of ammo but that's cause I am a bad shot haha.

Developer (2 edits) (+1)

Thanks for your review! We are happy that you enjoyed our lore decisions:D I needed to get used to outplay the enemies at first, but it feels really fun after that(our scripter didn't get used to it, he just multiplied player's health by a hundred times and played the game this way)

Submitted (1 edit) (+3)

Great work for being 3D! The guns felt alright, However i wish i could use them for longer. It felt like each room was very big, but extremely empty. When it wasnt empty, the enemies were much to powerful for what you could do.

I love the audio, it sounds great. Maybe giving some interaction buttons would be great for picking up weapons/ammo, i had a hard time getting them from the shelves sometimes.

Overall a solid idea, fits the theme! Great work.

edit: I loved the menus too, great job with those

Developer(+1)

Thank you for the review! The big rooms are designed with purpose to help dodging enemy robots, cause if you don't have enough space to move around, it's really hard to deal with them. You're right about emptiness - we didn't have enough models to create perfect laboratory environment, it was also hard to make it before the deadline. It's a good idea about interaction buttons - we will think how to make picking up ammo, cards and weapons easier!

Submitted(+3)

A well-polished game with lore + narration! Now, that's something! The only thing bothering me is that the game is too hard to progress. Great job though!

Developer(+2)

Thank you for the feedback! We really appreciate that you enjoyed lore and narration, we focused on them as an important part of our story! We thought about creating levels of difficulty, which change HP and damage of enemies, but didn't have enough time to make it work stable. I died 2 times while trying to beat the game after I spent a week creating it! So yeah, it isn't so easy to beat on the first try:D
