I really liked the idea, and the visuals are good. However, I've had trouble figuring out how to unlock it, and the audio cues are a bit difficult to tell. I suggest adding a tutorial section. Overall, great job and congratulations!

loved the look and theme of the game, my only criticism is that for me i wasn't able to which sound is which, other than that really cool concept and the game could be expanded adding more locks types and levels with multiple locks ect. , great job

really cool concept, i think its a well executed lockpicking game. my only feedback would be that it is difficult to tell what the sounds mean themselves

Nicely done lock picking game :D Really liked the visuals on the lock and was excited to see the party friend behind the door!

Super cool concept and the visuals are so sharp! Definitely took me a while to wrap my head around it though

Simple idea but a very polished and well executed one!  The mechanics are designed very well, the graphics work very nicely with the concept, and the audio is well tuned to aid the player. It's a short but fun experience, I really don't have anything else to say!

Really insane design! You should have more ratings. Really nice mini game!

incredibly well made game for just two days, one of my favorites from this jam! im actually surprised this doesn't have more ratings. I love the mechanics of the padlock and how its supposed to behave like real life ones. The audio and music fit very well with the visual style too. Great job!

Nice! I gave you a good score for innovation. Reminds me of Skyrim lock picking!

I like the idea, now i know how to break a combination lock but i think  the game may be a little too hard.

LET ME IN I WANT TO PARTY!!
I mean I was in the end, it was worth cracking the lock just for the music and the 🤡 :)

Developer(+1)

hehe. its actually a 🐶 :)

I did not managed to unlock the door, but it's a very cool game idea

Would love, if you''d rate mine :))

I like the focus mechanic about listening to the clicks of the lock! Though I cannot identify the clicks nor unlock the lock, it sure is satisfying when unlocking it!

The idea is interesting, the graphics are good, the music on the background is pleasant, although I couldn't open the door no matter how I tried (

Developer(+1)

oh no! what aspect was too difficult?

Submitted

The very first one, I really couldn't open the door, although all the sounds were, I also read how to play, but I couldn't open it(

I loved the idea, but it would have been good to have a progression, first you have the combination (you learn how it works) then you have 2 numbers, then 1 and finally no numbers. It would have been good to have numbers on the padlock. Also I think it's strange that you have to do one turn to get the second number, that's not how this padlocks usually work. Good idea and nice clicking sound.

Developer

thanks for the feedback! admittedly we had to squeeze in the project into the last 2 days of the jam. i agree that progression and clearer sprites would've helped. glad you liked the concept!

I loved the idea of the game and listening to the lock! The visuals were great. It was a bit difficult for me to distinguish the clicks so I had to open the developer console to find the solution, but very nice game :)

Developer

thank you! i find that people have a slightly easier time playing in full screen (helps with mouse sensitivity and seeing the visual jiggle when you hit the right click)

Okay this is very well done, because I assume it mimics the real experience of breaking a door quite well, this is DIFFICULT
I have a high sens mouse and getting those tiny adjustments even with the console open is very hard, moving the mouse by a tiny bit causes it fail
But I get that it's supposed to be hard and lower sens and holding the outer part makes it possible, still something you should consider in the future if you continue this
Very polished though! well done

Very cool artstyle and good use of sounds in the lock

I was intrigued to break the lock cool intro...yet I am not sure if was going wrong or right with it. I heard the little different clicks but I thought I had it right there...couldn't break it lol ... maybe I am just dumb

Developer (2 edits) (+1)

thanks for the feedback! if you're struggling to tell apart the clicks or you can't listen to the game audio , you can use the developer console.  it will print out the combination and log whenever you enter the correct number like this:

[18, 9, 2]
#1 got!
Ready to enter #2
#2 got!
#3 got!
SUCCESS
the lock works like a real life lock (ie. spin clockwise until you reach the first number, then counterclockwise to the second, then finally clockwise to the third). hope this helps!

thanks I was hoping there was visual indicator

but how do I view the developers console? this is a webGL build

Developer

you can use the developer tools. i just updated the game with a quick fix to give visual feedback for people who may not be able to hear the audio. hope you'll be able to solve it now. cheers!
