This ist my game: https://itch.io/jam/brackeys-10/rate/2236986 Its a very short Game where you can dive into books for very short platforming passages. I am 14 years old and made the game together with a friend. While i made the Code he Made the Sprites (some using AI). Its very short but we plan on expanding it. Its my first game jam so dont expect too much.

Here is my game Diving in Sadness by Ace-Meme (itch.io)

The player is diving in the dark water. The graphics are still simple that you may feel a bit confused at first try, but the point is I try to narrow down the vision and the player should explore the map, try to collect goods to open the exit at the bottom of the map. I hope you have some fun :3

Hey, great idea and really awesome of you. I see a ton of responses already so I understand if you don't get to my teams game but I'll post a link and some info anyway:

Our game is called Souper Cosmobot! It's about a robot astronaut who is on a journey through the 'cosmic soup', exploring the progress of human civilization along the way. It's a 3D platformer with some interesting mechanics like being able to pole vault using chopsticks and grapple and swing around the level. The goal of the game, at least for the sake of the jam, is to collect a minimum of 5 golden spoons before jumping into the next cosmic soup wormhole. Silver spoons also exist to reduce your time, as we sort of envisioned the possibility of replaying to beat your best time once you get the hang of the mechanics and learn the locations of the golden spoons.

Our team is an interesting mix of people because most of us met through this jam but a few of  us have worked together on projects before. But as development was progressing through the jam we came up with a lot of ideas for something grander that we'd like to explore post-jam, especially if the game is well received. There's definitely a bit of a lack of published 3D platformers on the PC so developing one in that space is really attractive to us. We're still in the talks of where we want to go from here beyond just polishing up some of the things we've already received feedback on. Quite a few of us on the team are actively looking to get a job within the game industry so having a published game is definitely a big goal for some of us.

Anyway, if you do get around to our game it'd be super awesome. I've been spending the past few afternoons making gameplay videos of all the jam games I've rated and I've already done over 30, so getting to see someone play our game would be really amazing to get back.

Hi, first of all big thanks for this thread and the videos too!

I'm one part of Fallacy Studio, which is a group of game development students from University of California, Santa Cruz (both ongoing and alumni)! For this jam, our group made a metroidvania platformer set in an unknown new planet that has appeared within the star system. Players must dive into the depths of this planet to discover the secrets of the planet.

Our group is definitely planning on releasing a small update to address some common feedback we've received from playthroughs of the game, but have no further plans for this game beyond that. Nevertheless we are still very proud of what we've made as it has showed a lot of growth since our last game! Hope you'll enjoy playing it!

Getting this kind of feedback is so great for developers, thanks for doing this.

I'm a solo developer who has been working with Unity on and off for about 6 years now. For the jam, I thought about my favorite game genres and what makes them so special. Then, I designed a game revolving around all of them where you have to switch between those genres to progress in the game. So basically I made four games in one, then synced them all up!

I do plan on releasing this game after the jam for free on the Steam store as a short 30-60 minute puzzle game. The entire game and features are already done, it just needs a good coat of polishing or two and some bug fixes :)

Feel free to try it here!

Hi there! This is a short game where you need to find the correct combination of keys in order to help a little girl threatened by her horrible father. Oh, I forgot to tell you that you are just an axolotl in an aquarium. Mh? Sounds impossibile? I guess...

It's one of those games that makes you angry. But maybe you can still laugh, I hope.

If you try it, I hope you'll like it!

(obviously in the next days I'm gonna try your game too!)

If the offer still stands, here's my game.

I guess the best genre to fit it in is top down shooter, but you'll be using the gun for movement more than anything else. It's technically endless too, so no pressure on making a longer video to fully complete it.

I'm completely solo, and only really started game-dev this summer. And I'm currently working on a free improved version, which already makes the jam version look like a basic demo.

Thanks!

Fishing Time

Hey there! My game is about how the main protagonist fishes through the deep thoughts he wished to keep a secret in his mind. You dive deeper and deeper slowly uncovering the story by fishing up memories "Treasures". I don't want to spoil too much!

Me The Developer

I am an aspiring indie game developer, it has been my dream ever since I was a little kid, and I am taking the jump of joining this game jam! This is the first one I have ever been apart of! But I am a solo team, I make the art, audio, I program, everything...

What The Future Holds?

I am going to be completely finishing this game after the game jam! I have a lot of ideas I still want to implement, and I want to document all of it on YouTube, because I want to show people that you can follow your dreams, even if its just a one person team.

Here is My Game Link! :)

Infinite Onion: Rate Infinite Onion by isosceles.starch for Brackeys Game Jam 2023.2 - itch.io
...Is a strange little roguelike bullet hell in the making. It's fairly bare bones at the moment, sporting only one enemy type, but I intend to develop it into a full game eventually with multiple zones, boss fights, a hub world, permanent upgrades, an ending, etc.
In the meantime, I've been working on an update that will bring this little prototype closer to the original vision I had for it at the beginning of the jam.
If you get around to it, I hope you enjoy :)

Well Hello there!

I hope it is not to late for this, anyway here.

My game is a fast paced work in progress with a unique twist on the usual fighting/rpg combat. Not very much was actually completely finished for the jam, but I am planning to release a major update after the jam has ended :)

Who am I, well a (soon to be) 16y/o solo developer. No real team yet, but I am hoping to change that. I do pixelart, some music (not very good, hoping to improve at it) and ofc coding  (I have done C, python, adruino and C++, but I mostly work in C#).

I'm thinking about starting a YouTube channel myself (actually more like rebooting a dead one).

Thanks for reaching the end, but that's all for me. :)

Thank you for everyone replies I shall attempt to do another couple of videos tomorrow and try and get through as many games as I possible can. If you game is an extremely horror game (I know sounds funny since we made a horror game as well) or if your game is on mobile,  i wont be able to record game footage of it as I get very scared of horror games and secondly I dont have a way to record mobile . But other than that I shall try and get through the list thank you to everyone for posting here . What an awesome community. Make sure to go out and try other games as well and especially low rated games and give them a few votes makes all the devs super happy to see their game tried out :)

We dove deep into the experience of a full 5 team member game and came out with just two, while shifting from a 3D horror RPG to a horror endless runner.

In the entry you will dive deep into the castle avoiding obstacles, while being chased by ghostly skulls (hope you like the shader graph magic :)

Need 6 more ratings.

Let me know what you think of my short AR "experience" made in 2 days, as you swim with fish in your room :D

P.S.- I didn't have time to make it into a proper game so just enjoy the experience.
