Snake keep going deeper and deeper in order to avoid the danger at the top of the screen

Did you write all the code and made all the assets from scratch?
I wrote all the codes, and made most of the assets. I did not make the audios/Sounds myself

I'm not entirely certain if the menu was supposed to be glitchy or not, but I would totally call it a feature is it wasn't. For me, the menu screens would overlap and selecting done in the options menu crashes the game. Overall though, really great idea and entry. Good consistent graphics. Well done!

Developer

Yeah, for some reason in build the game crash after getting out of the setting menu, but not in Play mode in Unity lol. I did not know about it overlapping though. Thank you for the feedback, glad you enjoyed my entry :)

Really like the idea of the game, the options menu explodes when I click the "done" button but I found this very enjoyable. Thumbs up!

"it's not a bug, it's a feature" xD

I tried playing like it was Snake and couldn't make it very far. Once I stopped trying to pick up any more pieces, my single square snake got a score of 502 at depth 94.

Developer

Yeah, the score multiplier is scale on how long the snake is + how deep it has gotten. It is definitely possible to just keep racking up points with a very short snake. I did wanted to add more obstacles but I ran out of time. I hope you enjoyed it though! :)

I must say, your game is quite enjoyable and visually verry appealing. However, I broke it.  Whenever I go to the right edge and refrain from consuming any food, I notice that I could easily reach score 1500 by repetitively moving up and down until the food respawn on inconvenient location right before me. It seems that along that particular line,  boxes aren't being generateed.

Furthermore, I didn’t understood  purpose of expanding the snake's size within the game. It only increase the game's difficulty without offering any corresponding rewards in form of reaching higher score. I enjoy this game way more when I start to ignore score and instead trying to make snake as long as possible

Developer

Thank you! I believe I made the score to go up in scale of how long the snake it + how long you have survive, so the longer the snake, the faster you get score. It purely to serves the purpose of the game having some tangible goal (high score). Also similarly, I also find having the challenge of keeping the snake size as long as possible fun when I was testing it. I'm glad you enjoyed it! :)

Interesting concept. Love how you made it on a nokia screen, lol

Developer

Thanks! :) I wanted to have it so that it shows the buttons and the buttons would click micmicing your input but I couldn't get to that point on time.

Interesting concept, but I unfortunately didn't know what was going on. It seemed like the snake was moving on its own lol. With more time you can definitely flesh this out more. I noticed a bug where leaving the settings will accidentally quit the application. Nice job overall!

Yeah, I told myself to put in some text saying "Press any keys to start" after starting the game but I completely forgot as 5 minutes before submission time approached lol xD
As for the audio bug, I have no clue why it was doing that only in the build and not in editor Play mode

A fun little snake game. It could have used a bit more sound effects, and perhaps some music. Overall a pretty good jam game.

Thanks! I did try to work on it as much as possible after work hours but did not quite have that much time :)
