How does your game fit the theme?
The game fits the theme by being a hybrid of two ideas: diving deeper in outer space and diving deeper in the ocean. You are an astronaut that crashed onto a human-habited planet in the far future and you must go scuba diving to get enough money for a ticket back to Earth.

Did you write all the code and made all the assets from scratch?
The assets are from Unity Asset Store and since I'm a beginner I had to look up tutorials for some scripts.

Good graphics and nice atmosphere of the game!

Nice, solid base for a game and not bad for a beginner. Here is some advice:

  • Do not include copyrighted music from other games in your released games! This might actually get you in trouble (especially when you sell such a game).  I also do that sometimes, but I remove the music before sharing my game online.
  • Try not to mix assets from various different artstyles into one game. It would be best of course to create your own assets, but sticking to one style / type of asset also helps a great deal.
  • The underwater movement is a bit weird, I think simple WASD movement similar to the overworld (with some friction) would have been better

and many more small things that would break the scope of this comment.

Don't let this discourage you, everyone starts somewhere ;)

Nice entry! Good job!

Nice work for a beginner! Definitely needs lots of improvements, but I liked the different songs played when entering different areas! Also, I don't know how this game needed 1GB of storage, better address that next time too!

Developer

Well i accidentally put the whole unity project so maybe that's why

Pretty solid entry for a beginner! I like the backstory and didn't run into any bugs, well done! The movement underwater was a little touchy, so if there's one thing you might want to try and refine it would be that, but other than that maybe having random spawn locations to incentivize the player to explore different areas more.

Here's my gameplay video playthrough if you want to get some more in-depth feedback!

Glad you liked it!

If you have time to play and rate my game back it'd be very much appreciated!

The diving part of the game was pretty well done!! Not bad for a beginner in terms of asset usage and scripting.

Keep up the good work!!

Nice use of assets as a beginner, even building a world with free/bought assets can be a difficult task as a beginner, so nice job!

Great work! Keep it up.

Great ideas overall! You'll get better in no time, I see a lot of creativity in this ^^ Keep working hard!

Nice and I think as a beginner you should be proud! Would recommend some more attention to UI/UX next time, or partnering up with someone who is a visual designer :) I think the tutorial could also be elevated a bit!

Developer

Thanks a lot! Unfortunately, since im still a young developer (still in hs) I don't know anyone as a visual designer. However I do want to get better at drawing my assets :)

Through the depths of the ocean!

Things I enjoyed ✔️
  1. I liked the music, I felt it suited the scuba game that you play.
  2. I like how it is very easy to get into, when you get deeper and deeper finding different treasures that are worth more money.
  3. I like the scuba sprite that you used, it is very clean especially with the environment the character is in.
  4. Controls felt responsive, overall had no issues with controlling the character.
Things I would like to possibly see with your title. 🤷‍♂️
  1. I noticed there was not any collision with the main entry scene, I don't know if it was intentional but I just wanted to point it out.
  2. The player seems to have glitchy movement when your just a space man, but the scuba scene is perfectly fine with the movement.
  3. I feel you could get upgrades for the player, like increased movement speed, or oxygen level.
Overall 📓

I liked your game, I had a good time playing it, great job on this one, you should be proud of it!

Developer

Thanks a lot for the feedback! I do want to ask, do the endings (when you die and when you get the ticket) also need room for improvement?

Really good game bro, But the tutorial was a little hard to follow.

Submitted

It was fun and a really solid game. The only things to improve are the art and tutorial

Submitted

game is over sized i guess, but i loved the space and ocean ideas

Sorry, I Can Play WebGl, 😥

Haha I really love the second map music. I like the concept of collecting somethings in the ocean than using that golds. Sprites is a bit jittery in ground. May be you could randomize spawning diamonds etc. Still cool and fun. Good luck with your game dev journey!

Can you try and rate my game ?

really good progress for a first game!
some feedback that might help: the art style would look better if its 1 style, I know you included a tutorial but make it more in gameplay for example start on a path and keep walking until you find money, then you find ticket .... etc

Developer

I have thought of that, but i didn't really have time since I wouldn't be home on Sunday and Saturday was the final day for me. Thanks for the feedback!
