How did you/your team interpret the theme?
The story told is not of a hero, but of an ordinary guy that is allergic to holes(somehow)
How was your/your team's experience in this jam?
It was fun! I might do another Bored Pixels jam someday.

Nice execution! Well Done!
:D Thanks!
This is such a perfect, cute, funny little game! I love when people are able to make something so entertaining with something so simplistic. My critique is really just nitpicks, accordingly:
Well, and I guess I don't quite get how it relates to the theme. But it's genuinely such a fun little experience that I don't really care.
Im glad you liked it!
Thanks for the feedback, I definitely plan to shorten the super jump charge time after the jam, heh
and yeah I couldn't figure out how to make a text object in a pixelated layout in construct 3 not also be pixelated.... oooops
also, yep it barely fits the theme(you just play as a random guy not a hero)
heh
Well that's a really funny game xD The graphics are simple but solid, the controls are feeling responsive and the level design is pretty good. Nice work.
Thank you so much! Im glad you enjoyed it.
Cool game, I loved the shadows and the animation of the jump.. well done!
:D Thanks!
Sometimes the simple games are the best games. This is one of those games! I really liked the color palette and humor in your game. I enjoyed it thoroughly. Great job!
Thanks! :D
I like it all! I like the simplicity of everything! I also really like the funny parts of the game (allergic to holes, dumb questions, etc.). I also liked the secret points or whatever they were called and the lighting. The jumping mechanic makes the game not be very fast paced but I can live with that. Although I think the way you interpreted the theme wasn't very much connected to the actual theme I still like this game. 5/5!
THANK YOU!!!! Im so glad you enjoyed it!
(also yeah the connection to the theme isn't very strong haha)
Very good art style, gameplay is simple and fun!
Thanks!
Oh no, I've found a hole during the gameplay. I guess thats cool
lol!
Nice hole, awesome dialogues
thanks lol
It's nice simplistic game. Liked dialogue system and sound. Jump button hold a little much for me. Other than that nice little design
Glad you liked it and thanks for the feedback!
Pretty nice game! The simplistic visuals were nice, the light effect helped it a lot.
The controls were pretty nice, at first I thought they were a bit weird when moving, but I eventually got used to it.
Wish it had a bit more relevance to the theme though.
Thank you! and yeah, I with I had thought of something better in relation to the theme, heh
As someone who is also allergic to holes, this game touched me emotionally.
I love the dialogue, the platforming is tight, and the squash + squish + the sounds make this game quite juicy! I wish it related more to the theme.
Well done!
Thank you!! Glad you enjoyed it.
Cool style, funny dialogue, good level design. I found collecting the secrets very satisfying, which I found all 3 of. The only gripe I have with this game is the movement controls. They do feel a little bit stiff, and the super jump takes a bit long to charge up, but other than that, awesome game!
Glad you liked it, and thank you for the feedback!
Oh, nice game. I love the very abstract style, I'd say it reminds me of Thomas Was Alone, but you already mentioned that as an inspiration! The dialog from the protagonist was also pretty funny, too. There's a lot done with a little, which is always impressive.
My only issue is with the Super Jump. I love it, it's really satisfying to use, but it's not introduced very well. I actually missed the first secret because I didn't know it existed, and pretty much only found the super jump by accident and would've gotten stuck if I hadn't. Might be better to have the protagonist mention it or something.
Other than that, the game was pretty fantastic! I agree with one of the other comments that ask for a longer game, but I'm pretty sure that's just Thomas Was Alone, haha.
Thanks! Also, funny you mention it, if you stay at the first required super jump section for I think over 10 seconds the cube will say "maybe I should charge my jump"
Haha, your too good :D
Huh, wow. I literally skipped the tutorial because I found the move by accident. That's actually really good game design. Makes the game even better, then!
heh
That's a good one!
Initially, I was "meh, one more platformer". But I kept playing. Style is simple but somehow is appealing to me. Short texts make me smile and feel connected with this abstract rectangle.
The game design is clever. By using only a few elements, it keeps me interesting in playing with all these hidden spots. Now I just want the same but longer and with some story behind it.
Thanks, its exactly what I was going for!
yay i found the 3 secrets :) I like how the gameplay is very simple and to the point - I could focused on finding the secrets with no stress. I also liked the comical art style. great job!
Thanks! Glad you liked it :D
Happy to see a jam game with controls that don't make me want to gouge my eyes out!
lol thanks!
A simple game well executed. Reminds me of "Thomas was alone".
How did you do the shadows? Can you access which objects are lit in the game logic?
Thanks, it was inspired by "Thomas was alone"
In Construct 3 (the engine I use) there's a shadow light object that you can use to cast shadows, and anything you want to hide behind a shadow you put on a layer below it. https://www.construct.net/en/make-games/manuals/construct-3/plugin-reference/sha...
