The best game I've played in this jam. It gets way too difficult in level 10 though, so I couldn't finish it. Also, there were many times where I finished a level and then missed throwing the planet into the portal, forcing me to restart the whole thing.

feel free to try-out and rate my game.

Such a good game! I really enjoyed playing it! It took me a few tries to get used to the controls, but once I got it, it worked well :)

I like the little details a lot : the smoke after you got hit, the little stars where you disappear after dying, the little animations here and there like when you hit an asteroid... They really make the difference and make the game very enjoyable!

The sounds are really fun and work well with the game! The music becomes a bit annoying after a while, though...

Congratulations for making such a polished game during the game jam !

Simple art style and basic flappy birds game, but I really enjoyed it. One of the best games for me. Good job. Nice level design with good challenge curve. First levels have a little problem that you can finish them with going on the top all the time without getting hit or max 2 times :D

But of course there are some points that could be improved for a maybe later version, which i would really like to play ;)

  • Position of controls, but that was mentioned already.
  • I have no idea how big the hitbox of the rocket is. To me it seems that the bottom of the rocket is the bottom hitbox, but on the top I'm not sure, it seems somewhere around the head, but not the full head. One question to this: does the hitbox change when the rocket rotates, or does it stay the same?
  • That "congratulation" text is really killing the nice art style of the game. I was just like "WHY?" :D

Anyway, nice game. Would love to see more levels with new mechanics ;)

I would appreciate it if you give my game a try and leave a rating (and comment) ;)

Thank you for your feedback ! The hitbox does rotate with your character, and it basically consists of the rocket and the character's head (although it is a bit smaller). As for the ending... well it was supposed to be a joke at first but I decided to let it like that in the end because it made me laugh x) (and to be fair, I always have trouble making endings for my jam games, because there isn't much story or objective to work with... so I thought making a joke ending would probably be the more enjoyable for the player instead of a generic thing already seen over and over ?... maybe ?...)

Quite enjoyable, especially once planet switching is introduced.
Graphics are pretty simple but consistent, and you added a few interesting twists to a well-tested formula.
Taking into account the character's angle when throwing planets instead of always doing it horizontally would have felt more intuitive to me, but I guess it might have made some situations more difficult to handle.
Nice entry overall.

simplistic art style that somehow clicks ...pretty fun arcade game.. I found the controls a bit odd... like do w/s for up down and set those x/c combo like somewhere off .. so that I can actually play using two hands.. other than that ..Good job

Developer

Thank you for your feedback ! If I ever update this game, I'll make sure to include more control options.

The game has a good difficulty curve, the art style is stupidly simple, but in a way that works together  with the choice of colour palettes and definitely gives me a bit of a nostalgia trip to Newgrounds. And the gameplay is just simple, challenging fun. I like it. Keep it up

Developer

Thank you ! Glad to hear that it reminded you of the good old newgrounds age !

This is probably the best game out of all of them! I really enjoyed it! The Audio doesn't seem to be delayed for me! Maybe it's your PC or something? :/

I like it! It's good!

Please check out my game as well: https://cristihkj.itch.io/life-is-a-wimp

Thank you ! I'm relieved that the audio issue is just on my pc then. I'll definitely check your game tomorrow when I'll have access to a better pc !

I really enjoyed your game! I came to level 10. I love how diverse your levels are. The only complain I have is that the rocket engine sound is always played in my left headset so my left ear kinda hurt after a while. But still, very well made game!

Developer(+1)

Thank you ! Whoops, I didn't playtest the game wiht headphones, so I didn't think about that...

Good game, I especially liked the various animations for the UI and the stick figure. I managed to get to level 11. Maybe add some kind of thrust which allows you to go up or down really quickly that has limited uses per level

Developer

That's a good idea that I didn't think about before ! Thanks !

Submitted

Wow there are a lot of nice ideas, that you have implement (asteroids with thrust that and sticked harzard ;D) and at the game is relay difficult and catchy at the same time. Thumbs up!

Developer

Thanks ! Actually I made the sticky hazards completely by accident so I got a bit lucky with those lol...
