I really like the artwork, especially how you control 5 characters at once. Great job!

Amazing! the gameplay itself is incredible! It got me playing for hours ngl. It was very smooth to play too! keep up da good work!
I loved the art style of your game. Each character playing a different role and giving abilities on dying must have been difficult to make and code. That was just great! I really hope this is expanded upon. I would love to play a full version of this! Thanks for the game!
Please consider playing and rating my game as well. I would really appreciate it! Thanks!!
Hello, thank you for playing my game, im glad you enjoyed it, yeah the code isn't really organized xD, the current game currently has a game eventually, but there isn't really an indicator so i think people just thought it as an endless survival, but after the jam i will update the game with some new features, be sure to look for it! Oh and yeah, sure i will also play your game, thank you!
I really like the art and the dialogue. The theme isn't really apparent in this game, but overall I think it's a fun quick game. Kinda reminds me of Tower Defense games and their artsyle, idk why.
The graphics and the design of different characters were purely amazing. I feel like the difficulty was perfectly balanced, and it wasn’t hard nor was it difficult. The game had no music, but the sound effects were really good! Splendid!
Cool game! I liked the mechanics, I thought the 'less party members = more damage' was a nice twist on the 'less health = more damage' route many people, myself included took. The art was fun and very unique. I enjoyed all of the different attack animations on the heroes.
If you wanted to improve, I suggest fixing the GUI scaling, my screen is large so I was able to see all of the menus, even when they were not suppose to be on screen. I could also see around the fade to white and fade to black boxes. The gameplay also got very repetitive and had no sense of progression. Making waves of enemies with a shop in-between or even a high score would be cool. Lastly, health bars on the enemies could help to make the gameplay more informed, I could never tell what enemy was lower on health to focus on.
Check out my game if you have time!
Hello, thank you for taking time to check out my game, and thank you for the very usefull feedback, yes i haven't even thought about the UI scaling aspect of my games, and yeah, a sense of progression would be a good indicator since the player have no way of knowing how far they have progressed from the player's perspective, and the enemies healthbar could be an interesting addition, and a highscore would certainly make the game more fun, thank you for the feedback! I have so much to improve from. I will make sure to check out your game!
It looks pretty nice. But it could use some improvements like upgrades or changing characters orders. Graphics are nice to watch :)
Hello! Thank you, glad you liked the graphics and art, about the changing character orders bit yeah i agree, at first i think it added more depth to the gameplay if you are limited in your positioning, but thinking about it again it just adds frustration sometimes, i will be sure to add it if i continue this project, about the upgrading characters bit, for this jam i dont think it really fits the theme because "less is more" so i made the character upgrade when one dies so it fits the theme, but if i continue this project i will make sure to implement some sort of upgrade system since its not limited to the theme anymore. Thank you for the feedback!
I really liked this game, but it took over 30 minutes for me to beat it. I feel it would have been a better experience if you shortened the overall length of the game.
Fun idea, would be interesting to experiment with swapping the character orders around between waves to give time for those on the inside to heal. Some more in game instructions would help as I was unaware the fire healed me until reading up on your game after. Great job none the less!
Yeah about the swapping characters bit, i was thinking about doing that too, and about the fire i remember putting up some text when the game started to tell that, however i should be more clear with tutorial since some people might be looking away at the game when the tutorial showed up, thank you for the feedback!
This is great! The amount of art and animation you did in the time is really impressive as well as all the dialogue etc. I think the animation especially is brilliant :D A couple of thoughts for future additions:
You could have one of the characters able to lay traps or blocks so that you can keep the ogres from one direction at bay while you fight the other side.
Maybe the ability to rearrange the fighters to protect the ones with low health would be good as you go along.
Obviously the goal at the moment is to live as long as possible and kill all the ogres, it might be good to have waves or a score to know how you're doing.
The fighters getting blessed with the spirit of dead comrades and becoming more powerful fits the theme really well, probably the best of all the games I've played so far as it's so well implemented! Great work!
Cheers
Thank you so much for the support, yes i did have a lot of free time so i got a lot of time to put into the game, and yes i have considered putting the stuff you mentioned like a hunter putting a beartrap and the ability to rearrange the fighters however at the time i didn't really know how to implement the rearrange thing, and about the beartrap, i was consider putting it as a "skill" for the fighters, however i thought that i will not have enough time since if i put a skill on one fighter, the other will need to have skills aswell and i haven't really got the time to put a skill system, however if i continue this game i will make sure that's an addition, and yes a scoring system would be really great, and a wave system is a really great feature for telling the player that they're making progress and that new enemies will come soon rather than sitting there bored killing the same enemy multiple times, thank you for the feedback and support i really appreciate it.
I liked the game only a bit of music audios and visuals would make the game much nice I've given you 4 stars you can try out my game https://itch.io/jam/blackthornprod-game-jam-3/rate/899688 and give some stars and feedback
to be completely honest, I really love the game and I find it addictive. It was mentioned in the comments that it can get a bit boring later on but it is okay! I think this game should be pursued further as I really would love to see much larger game like that on steam :)
Yeah i was actually considering to do that, to add more to their personalities but i was told that you need to use your own fonts, and i kinda want everything in the game to be made by me, and this was kinda late into the jam, so i just scrapped that idea and wrote my own few text(sorry if its really boring to look at), and about the music yeah im not really good at them but im learning. Thank you for the feedback!
I liked how the game looks, the concept of having a team as a character and having them attacking at the same time is really cool. I liked the faceless art. At some point the game became a bit boring because you are fighting the same kind of monsters and its quite slow. Maybe throw a bigger boss in from time to time? I don't know if its already in there because i stopped eventually :) Keep up the good work!
I LOVE IT. its fun and i like how spirits blesses u. plz rate my game and follow.
