The aesthetic is clearly what brouht a bunch of us to your page; and it is really great. Wholly unique for what I know of jam games, so really amazing job in cultivating that!
To me the gameplay felt a little undirected; some audio or a little more on-screen hints (as in through colour or level design) would have really helped me progress more naturally. Sadly after clearing the first obstacle I felt totally lost, taking me a few goes to even realist the coloured clouds were seperate from the background.
Seeing as to how unique the art is, it could have been cool to really find a unique core to the gameplay to compliment the strengths of that style.
I loved the music. I think having some sound would have benefitted you a lot. But, let's talk about the good part. The art is great. I loved the way you used the theme. Everything looks hand-drawn and made with so much hard work. Thanks for your game!
Please consider playing and rating my game as well. I would really appreciate it! Thanks!!! Cheers!!
I like the art, though the character less. Honestly, I'm starting to get tired of platforming games, though it caught my attention for a while. Sadly, however, I was still unable to get past the second roadblock where a turret was shooting. It was completely impossible to have any strategy to get past it. Had I made the game I would have made it shoot from the beginning to the end of that section, and loop that. Sound effects would definetely have been an improvement, but I liked the music very much.
Oh, and congrats on the 20th rate!
Really cool art style. Like the chill music. The gameplay could be a bit frustrating. I felt like my character was sluggish and the little turret was pretty brutal with that close range and high fire rate. I think it works a bit against the vibe that the art and sound give off. The art style and sound would feel more at home in a walking sim or slice of life game.
I really love the amazing colorful art style!! The platforming is a bit rough but still fun and enjoyable. Overall this is a very cool game! Well done!
Nice looking colorful art style. very pleasing to look at.
Super impressive art style, however the game is a bit buggy, the controls are not very responsive and the goal is unclear. But, again, the atmosphere is amazing, congrats!
The art is really stylised and looks very dreamy! The water colour style works very well, the music also fits this dreamy atmosphere! The jump felt a bit floaty (maybe that was intentional seen as though it was in a cloud :D), and the cannon was RNG so it was just luck whether you could complete. Overall, good game with incredible visuals!
thank you!
The art style is really cool. The gameplay could use some work. Maybe some checkpoints or a health system so I didn't have to start over whenever I took a hit. Nice job finishing the game!
I like the look of the clouds and the abstract paintings, the music is cool too. It feels like a dream. But the gameplay is the opposite to dream. You should make some kind of checkpoints on the way, so you don't have to start over. It was hard for me to play as you can't see the platforms clearly. Congratz for finishing tho.
Liked the visuals alot and the sound is pretty good! Gameplay a bit slow but it looks almost like a kids painting which is cool and unique! :)
I really like the unique artstyle. The character movement is bad though. You can't move up slopes, the character is very slow, you die one hit and it's just uncomfortable. Getting past the turret is pretty much impossible.
From a looks- standpoint, this is definitely a win. The game looks very "artsy" and has a deamy- vibe to it.
Gameplay is nothing outstanding, but works well with the style of the game, and it's surprisingly hard.
There were some minor bugs, like being unable to walk up slopes without jumping, and clipping into the side of blocks, but that is expected with a jam game.
Overall, I'd say it's a decent game.
The visuals are cool and unique.
On the other hand, the difficulty of the cannons are just unplayable. There are no safe spots, nor a recognizable shooting pattern. This makes it unavoidable and only a great luck can get you through it.
Visuals and music are on point ! THe game is a little hard to play though, but I still played through it !
the paints are really cool, but the gameplay is a little rough, the dude is hard to control
Yeah, I'm going to experiment with that, thank you though!
Really beautiful art sidy1 ! I can see this game expanding in really beautiful ways if you keep working on it.
Thank you! I will most certainly keep working on it.
Love this paint focused world. Just wish there was a bit more to do!
Yeah me too! I will definitely be adding way more things in the next release and beyond!
The visuals in this game are so beautiful it's truly incredible. It gives the game a very unique style that I can't help but be truly impressed by. The music also complements it well and gives it this ethereal / dreamy feel that is truly spectacular.
If you wanted to improve, adding checkpoints would be nice. It was also hard to tell where I could and could not walk, especially in the beginning jumping area. Increasing the player speed could also make the game feel a little better.
Overall cool game!
Thank you! I was planning to change the current finish, after the cannon, to be the first checkpoint, when I add more in. The hidden platforms seem to be a common issue, so I will definitely change that. I guess i'll experiment with the speed too!
If you do keep working on this, definitely let me know! I'd love to play it again and see what cool stuff you can add!
Sure thing!
I cant get past the cannon balls, but so far the art is great!
Controls a bit clunky tho, not really a fan of press up to jump.
Yeah, I will add spacebar to jump next release, should have thought of that. The cannon balls are super hard because after that is the end, and I was trying to make it less quick to complete, when there's more to do though, I will turn down the difficulty of that(It is possible if you get lucky though).
Thank you!
