Very cool, I'm surprised more haven't played this. Maybe try changing the itch's icon to something else to make it more attractive because I think the gameplay is solid, the graphics are nice, the music and the sound effects are on point, and the simple "ram into your enemies" rather than shoot them is very fun. The open space makes it a little dull to find your targets sometimes, though it is not hard since you can follow where the rockets came from, but maybe a mini radar of where the target is relative to you might be beneficial too.

The radar idea is a good idea i tried to make something like that but it was difficult to figure out so i put it on the back burner and never got around to it. thanks for playing! Also is it possible for me to change the image with out me loosing all of the votes and such if so ill work on a better one.
I had some amazing fun playing this. There was some crisp pixel art combined with great music and sound. At first, it was difficult to control it but then eventually it got better. Shooting the flares from back to damage was a great idea. The game was a little difficult for my taste but still, maybe I am not good at these kinds of games. But I could still see the hard work poured into this. I have a lot of love for pixel art and this game did it simple and right. Congratulations on creating a great game!!
Please consider playing and rating my game as well. I would really appreciate it! Thanks!!
thanks im glad you liked it i did make the game a little harder than i should have i realized that a little to late. And its so funny people love the pixel art that makes me very happy cuz almost all other art ive made in the past has not been very good but for some reason the art in this game just spoke to me and it made it easy to do the art. Thanks for seeing the hard work that went in cuz a lot did especially it just being me doing all of it i had a lot on my plate and had to get it done so im happy you enjoyed, and yes i will definitely play your game thanks for playing mine.
This game has a great concept that's executed super well. The boost feels super impactful and juicy, and the particle work you did also really shows. I also really enjoy the design choice of letting the player choose every level so they can experience all the content regardless of their skill level - it's a great feature especially for jam games.
However there are a couple cons as well:
1) The game was a tiny bit hard to understand at first: if there was some kind of text that described the bars at the top that would greatly help (also in the tutorial level I kept thinking that I had to boost INTO enemies rather than AWAY from them).
2) Developer syndrome, the game was balanced to be too hard.
3) The most glaring issue is that sometimes when I was holding down the thrust I couldn't boost. Simply put: it was super frustrating and instead of feeling like it was my fault for dying it was the game's.
Besides that I had a great time playing. Nice work!
Thanks for all of the info, ya i had short time to turn it into a web version, i did it so if the downloads didn't work there would be a last resort, the controls work better when the game is downloaded sorry, i also did not think about explaining the bars i don't know why, and ya after like half way through the development i realized it was way to hard it took me like 4 tries to beat the boss, and i made it, so its understandable it was hard, it was just to late for me to redo the levels. But I'm glad you enjoyed what was good though!
It's cool but a bit too hard for me :)
Enemies variety is really great!
This game is great! Loads of levels and different enemies which is cool given the short time. I really liked the boost mechanic, thought it worked well! General artwork was brilliant too, can't really fault anything!
Thanks for the feedback on my game too!
A simple but great application of the theme as a mechanic. Really smooth and fun gameplay aswell! Just one thing I noticed was that I would sometimes get hit by an enemy, my boost would increase but my health wouldn't decrease, effectively negating the main mechanic of the game. Great work overall though!
oh my guess would be he hit you decreasing your hp which started the cooldown for a new boost but the guy dropped an hp pack and gave you another heart, i allowed for over filling on boost cuz i was curious if anyone would find some cool strategies with it, i didn't want to be to strict on it so that skilled players could find some strategy that i would never think of.
Checked it out. I played the in browser version. The player was too close to the edge of the screen for me to play properly. I was able to easily cheese the game by just flying up non-stop and nothing could touch me lol. But the mechanics were solid. Nice work!
wow this was really good i loved the idea and how it was executed, a bit hard but it was still fun!
and again, loved the game and the music was super well too
The controls are really responsive and the mechanics fun. I don't think I'm very good at this though ngl XD
