Holy shit-a-moly! This was such a amazing entry. I love the art and the progression of the game. The stylistic approach, with the humor, with the customization, with the badges, with the music, with the subtle animations. I really can't even pin-point any disappointments. This feels like a project that was worked on for months! The amount of polish you guys were able to get in there was really stellar.
Parts of this felt like a really fun modular card game. Something that was re-imagined as a video game. Sometimes I feel like these mix-match mechanics for modular experiences stem from really solid card games. I'm not sure if it is the limitations of paper, but when those limitations feel like they are re-imaged or injected into a video game well ; it's just stellar.
Thanks for the great experience!
Thanks for playing the game. Nice observation! What we have here is some sort of a card game. When we first started rules for the game were drastically different. But as we went on we reached something that we are satisfied with. Its still not perfect, but I think we have a fun simple card game, which can even work when printed! :)
Haha - I enjoyed that so much. It would have been good if we had a way to remember what we had chosen before. But maybe you intended that to be part of the game?
Graphics were awesome, loved the art style. Music was spot on. Transitions were nice. What a range of options! Feeling like you were in a story was great.
Thank you for your kind words, and your constructive feedback! :) The game currently works as a memory game like you said, which means with a pen, and paper players perform better. We might change this in the future looking at the feedback we have. :)
I'm not a fan of this type of style (or of soviet theme in general), but this game was fun to play. In the beginning I got confused (like I always do), but then got used to gameplay and enjoyed making choices to get more points :)
You can watch my playthrough at https://www.twitch.tv/videos/326737312?t=00h44m00s
Also be sure to rate my game too https://itch.io/jam/blackthornprod-game-jam-1/rate/319192
Thanks for playing our game, and thanks for the brilliant commentary video on twitch! I hope you won't mind me using your commentary video on my portfolio, and places! :) (And by the way, your game is amazing, really good job! )
Very cool art style and idea, and love the story behind it, Just wish there were more challenges to the game. great job overall:)
Thank you for the feedback, currently we have an updated version in newgrounds that is harder. If you are looking for a challenge you can try it ! :) Otherwise after the jam is over, we will update it.
The art and sound on this game are perfect. The game creation it takes some thinking to get it "approved". :) Good job it's a nice game!
I love the art style and ideia. This was fun. Great job :)
Thank you for your kind words! :)
I really like the mood of this game! It is really cohesive in its atmosphere. The art and the music looks very polished. It's fun to play and has replayability. With a little bit more deph in its mechanics I believe this could be a very good foundation to work on and release. Congratulations!
Thanks. :) We are considering taking this a little further, or at least give it some more updates and fix bugs (post jam). We do agree with what you said completely, that a little bit more depth/options will make the game better for future.
I decided to play this game again, and I was again blown away by how great it was! Having to strategize about each part of the game design process, and then hoping that you made the right choice at the end is great! This is one of the few games of the jam I want to replay. Good job!
Thank you very much, this means a lot to us. We are working on taking it further, and fixing bugs (a post jam version). Feel free to check that out, and right to us about how we can make the game better! :)
Wow. This game blew me away! Excellent innovation of the theme and I loved the music. The mechanics were great and the art was incredible. Your team nailed every aspect of a great game. Good job!
Thanks a lot for your kind words! :)
This was fantastic, I could not meet the continuing demands of the committee but it was fun before I was sent to the gulag. Everything was great.
Hey thanks for playing! We worked on it really hard and we glad if you had fun playing.
The game was fun.The presentation, the visuals are all uniquely stylistic. But man the humor in this game and the communism parts of this game are really funny and fun.I love the text and images on the pick hardware/software/propaganda selections.
At the near end of the game though I had every worker and hardware at 5 stars, which then got a tiny bit boring(but that's only because I played this game a lot)
Thanks for your kind words. The game currently after a point reaches values beyond 5 stars, which means the increase is continuous but it is too high to be displayed with stars :D.
Oh wow....Communism truly has no limits ヽ(•‿•)ノ

haha, nice one! :)
This was so fun! The presentation as a whole was just excellent, from the art itself to the filter on the screen. It was pretty funny as well. It wasn't super clear at first how everything works together, but after playing a few times I started to understand it. Great job!
Thank you, we tried our best to create a good impression, and give the feeling of nostalgia. (With soft film grains, and sepia filters) Currently the game teaches with a little trial, so I can see people struggling at the beginning, that's something to polish possibly post-jam :)
"You seem to be enjoying this too much."
Yes, absolutely yes.
A really nice game, it fits the jam perfectly and feels like a completed game.
I loved the witty remarks and employees being a plank.
Awesome art, mood and humour!
I liked the concept (pretty close to my own game) and it’s quite fun to experiment things.
Good job!
Fantastic art and good writing, this game has a lot of personality. I like the idea of it being a memory game, it's certainly something you don't see a lot of and this was fairly well executed. I think the gameplay does get repetitive though, so maybe there needs to be an additional element. Perhaps a card/power-up system where you collect them, then you can use them to your advantage when the RNG doesn't go your way (e.g. you want a programmer and only get artists).
Thanks for the constructive feedback :). We previously had some titles in mind that gave a 4th option in those scenarios or gave you an extra pick. ^^
It is a very well executed game, with a lot of funny details. The game has a lot of personality and has its own 'game feels'. I like even though the actual gameplay is a bit simple. The dialogue / text is very nice aswell
Thank you, we tried to put as much flavor as we can to the game. :)
Wow this is really good! The idea of presenting different parts of the development to select in different stages is really good. Forces you to plan ahead a little but also deal with RNG. great!
The best game I played so far and small chances it will change :D Keep up the good work :) I found one small bug - when scores get 4-digits not all digits fit the screen ;) You could make a font a bit smaller or use a monospace font to fix this
Wow good job getting a 4 digit score :D thanks for the feedback
so revolution(your theme) doubles your designer score to 28, and Education for all(your propaganda) makes your lowest employee equal to your highest which happens to be your designer. That is a really good combo :D. Wow!
Oh, another thing I forgot to mention, game hanged after I got this score, so I couldn't continue to please the comitee :c
We will try to our hardest to recreate your score, and fix the underlying issue post-jam haha :D.
Beautiful game. Good music. Not my favorite style of game to play but I like the concept. You all did great.
Great game, one of the best that I played..
Congratulations on your entry for this gamejam :D
Thanks a lot, this means a lot to us :)
