Your game is really well done, buddy! I am impressed by the graphics and atmosphere, they are really top notch... production quality matches a paid game. Good luck in the game jam! Hope to see many more great games from you :)

Developer

Thank you for playing my game, aswell as your kind words!

I finally got it working. Great game! I loved the art style and the sound, The story was nicely told and you really made me feel for the player character. One little thing was the invincibilty of the player. I could just walk through the zombie hordes. Only explosions could kill my character. Could you give the player a choice after the character dies if you want to continue or quit the game?

Altogether one of the strongest entries in the game jam IMO.

Developer

Yeah, the difficulty definitely needs tweaking! Due to the 10 min time limit, I intentionally made a choice to make the game easy, and tell a decent story, than to make it challenging and have the story basically non-existent. I really wish I put a difficulty bar in. That would have given the option  for a longer experience with more of a challenge for those who wanted it. That would be the one thing I would change tbh. And yeah, that would've been a good feature to add and really easy to put in! I'm really glad you enjoyed it! Thank you for your kind words, feedback and of course for playing!

Why wasn't it working before btw? I forgot to ask!

My computer warned me of a security risk if I executed the game file. I chose to ignore it this time. It was weird, because it never complained about Unity-files before.

Wow, you did a lot in such a small amount of time! I really enjoy the dismemberment, specially when the heads go flying.

Developer

Thanks for playing! I'm glad you enjoyed it! I wasnt about to make a zombie shooter that didn't have that in there xD!

I'd love to try and play the game, but my computer (Win10) won't let me start the file. Am I missing something?

Developer

I dont think the game works for 32-bit systems. If your not running 32 bit I would try redownloading. Im really sorry you couldnt play my game. Hopefully re-downloading/re-extracting solves it!

I liked it. Like the 'Limbo style' with black and white graphics and that part when Emma says that it's her parents, you really felt "ah shit".

However it was very easy since I could basically just run and not shot anyone. I didn't need to wait for Emma or nothing prevented me from stopping or clearing the level. Same thing with the boss. Run to one side to the bomber dies and then just press to kill.

Other than that I think it's good for what time you had.

Yeah as I mentioned below in order to fit the 10 minute time frame I chose story over difficulty. Which I could've fixed by adding a difficulty bar. This would've allowed for a short experience or long one depending on what you set it at. Im glad you liked the art style, and had an impactful experience with the characters! Thank you for playing my game and the feedback!

I liked it, an interesting game. The game was too easy in general, but I liked the boss fight. I loved the visual style.

A little suggestion: When we fire the assault gun, the player lowers the gun at each shot. I would make him keep firing.

Developer

Yeah, I totally get what you mean, it was waaay easier than I would of liked. In order to make sure I could fit the story, build character development, and connections to the characters in the 10 minute timeframe I sacrificed the difficulty. If I were to do anything differently I would of made a difficulty setting, which would allow for the 10 min timeframe or a longer experience for those who choose. And even though he lowers the gun it has no impact on the bullet trajectory at all. If you mean in an artistic view it looks funny, your probably right xD! Thank you so much for playing my game and the feedback! When I get to my pc I'll look at that gun lowering bit and see if I notice anything weird xD!

It was already fun when I started playing this game... but then it got even MORE fun when I got the assault rifle. I had a blast mowing down the zombies.  The whole game is FLESH-ed out really well. I don't want to spoiled it to other people but I was hoping for something big for the last fight and you delivered! I am loving the high quality.

My suggestion would be to have the explosive zombie also blow up other nearby zombies and even cause a chain reaction of explosive zombies. The more firepower, the better.

Developer(+1)

I'm glad you really enjoyed it :).. The explosive zombies do in fact, blow the other zombies up! :D .. Buuut i noticed a bug that when you shoot them, this does not happen :( ... If you were to let them explode on their own it does though! I'm glad you enjoyed the boss battle! I did it the last night of the jam so it was rushed, and I wasn't to sure how it would be received xD! Thank you for playing my game and of course your feedback!
