Really cute and well-made N64-inspired platformer! The art for both the character and the environment is awesome, the music uses the Mario 64 soundfont and feels really legitimate, and the gameplay is really responsive and fun to move around in, which is the best thing you could ask from a platformer, honestly. The levels are designed really well and the presentation overall has a huge amount of appeal, so I'm looking forward to what this developer has at their next game jam!

Really fun platformer in the spirit of something like mario 64. I really liked how different the vibe is between each mode on each level. The music is great and having the mode variants added a lot to switching back and forth. The platforming was responsive and worked well, I particularly liked the ledge grabbing. I think my favorite level was the lava/poison swamp one, the lava and the chain link platforms definitely gave me bowser's castle vibes. Great job!

I think this is the best environment mode switching game I've seen so far in the jam! The level design feels great and the tutorial was well implemented. The amount of movement options available for the player is impressive, but in my opinion the character movement is a bit too snappy. Some acceleration to the movement and you have a fantastic platformer here. The mode switching felt very natural in the game aswell. Awesome work!

One of my favourite games from this game jam so far!

Some feedback:
 - there's a bug where my mouse stops looking around (I think if I press escape). I couldn't see the rest of the level, so I had to restart the game.

 - sometimes I'd accidentally wall jump when I meant to double jump. I understand why it happens, but I wish there was a way to fix this.

 - I'd prefer if, when you dash jump, you only have horizontal momentum while pressing movement buttons. Would give me more control in the air.

 - also, having the character's shadow directly underneath her, regardless of the mode or level's lighting, would help me know where I'm gonna land. I think Mario Odyssey did this.

 - also the ice level, trying to jump up the first bouncy balls was really tricky. I ended up having to "steer" with the mouse which wasn't fun.

Really fun tho!

Hey ! Thanks for the feedback! It really helps a ton!

I really want to improve so this was great! Thanks

About the shadow underneath, I'm kinda of a 3D platformer nerd and well, almost every platformer has the shadow underneath, but, I couldn't make it work as being my first Godot game. I still will try adding it in the future. I didn't even know where to start and kept delaying a só commun and so necessary feature.

I will try to think and fix the wall jump problem.

The bug in the escape key isn't really a bug I just forgor to add the menu :/

About the bubbles I didn't think it was annoying, but looking from the outside, yes, spinning around fast with decaying platformers might not be so fun as expected.

Again, thanks for the feedback! I really appreciate it, we are here to improve, aren't we?

Good luck with your game!

A new version of Godot (4.2 iirc?) came out around day 2 of the game jam that fixed shadows, at least in the compatibility renderer. Yellow about great timing! I just put a directional light in my character scene and made it face directly downwards.

And I had another lamp in each level to light up the level.

hmmm i know those instruments… curious…

pretty fun! the movement was nice and responsive, and the levels made good use of it. i like how the swapping mechanic was done - i appreciate being able to see where platforms are in the other dimension, it helps a ton for games like this. i liked the modelling in the game (especially the player’s character design!), though i feel that the platforms could be made to blend in with the environment better. nice job, i hope you’re able to clean this up some more and add more levels in the future!

Yo! Thanks for the feedback! I love the n64 instruments too much that I couldn't hold myself on making the music with them.

Also, thanks! This was my first time using the Godot Engine and making 3D stuff. It makes me super happy that someone actually found what I made good! I was super worried about the character and world looking bad lmao

Good luck with your game!

Super fun game! Only gripe is there's a bug that makes your character face one direction and the only way to get out of it is to grab a ledge- making wall-jumping more frustrating than it ought to be. I love the graphics, music and how satisfying it is to slide! Great job!

Yo! Thanks for the feedback

I know it's a bit late to answer all comments now, but I got a burst of motivation to do so. Better late then never!

That glitch about the character only facing one direction was a one I managed to create some hours before the deadline trying to fix a visual error, so yeah, woops :s

Thanks for the compliments! Every time I receive a comment my day instantly gets 10,000% better! Thanks, really

Good luck with your game!

Super nice platformer game. Love switch the different modes of the levels and everything was super well designed!

Hi! Thanks for the feedback!

Ik, comments from days ago, I read them, put them in my screenshot page, and didn't answer. Anyway, better late then never!

My biggest concern was that people wouldn't like the level desing but it worked quite well! You made my day better ( when I read it and now ), thanks!

Good luck with your game!

i had so much fun with this game, and i now want at least 30 more levels lol. love the art style and the sm64-like music. the gameplay and gimmick are extremely fun. love the environments and i especially love the level design. i did find a bug that temporarily locks my character into looking to the left, but it didn't affect my gameplay. well done! great game!

Heyo! Thanks for the feedback!

A bit late, but better late than never.

That glitch about the character only facing one direction was a one I managed to create some hours before the deadline trying to fix a visual error, so yeah, woops :s

Thanks for the compliments, I really thought this would suck lmao

Good luck with your game!

Damn this is probably the best utilization of the "mode" theme I have seen in this jam. I really hope this becomes a full game

Hey! Better late then never!

Tbh, I am considering it! I didn't expect to people like it, I was confident it would suck lmao. Really appreciate it. Made my day better.

Good luck with your game!

PLEASE keep going with this. I think you've got something really special here. I'd love to see this fleshed out into a full-length 3D platformer one day.

Yoyo! Thanks, really.

( I had read this but I got burst of motivation to actually answer all the comments so yeah )

I was not very confident and kinda confused why people where liking it. But hey, you made me so happy I can't put in words. Really appreciate it.

Good luck with your game!

Haha, of course! You really nailed the character animations and the environments, which give the game a lot of soul. Plus, the main mechanic has a lot of potential for all kinds of crazy applications. One of the best I've played so far.

This was really fun, I loved the world swapping mechanic! Ledge grabbing and wall jumping felt a little inconsistent at times, but overall the gameplay felt super smooth. I really liked a lot of the aesthetic touches here, like the extra twirling flourish on double jumps and the seamless music transitions where the instruments would change depending on which mode you were in. Great work!

I had a lot of fun playing this! Nothing can really beat a solid platformer, and this was quite solid. The controls felt pretty good, and I appreciated the double jump and ledge grab to compensate for the poor depth of field. There were quite a few bugs though, mostly with the player's rotation, which could get locked sometimes after grabbing onto a ledge, and the wall jump felt inconsistent. The level design was great, and nearly all of the time I could tell where I was supposed to go next and plan out what I would do. The mode switching was also well done, especially with the ghost blocks to help indicate what might be in the other dimension, although I do wish this had been more consistent.

Hey! Thanks for the feedback! It really helps a ton. :D

Yesterday I tried to fix a glitch where the player could rotate in the ledge, but apparently by fixing that the character doesn't rotate after jumping out of grabbing. Noice :s

Tried to fix a visual glitch and made a worse one Lmao

Good luck with your game!
