- The game is simple but relatively fun. Some more animations such as the player throwing the companion and some variety in gameplay whether it is companion specific abilities or more actions could've made the game more interesting

Thank you ChillyField for interacting !
Yeah, Game Jams can be a nice way for some game developers to improve their skills and crafts. I do agree with you about the rating scoring systems, and about ratings in general for competitions. It's not always fair and the proper way to use. I do agree that having judges is a better way.
If I were to organize game jams or competitions in the future , I would set judges for that. It's better and neutral.
Actually, I am new to Discord. This is my email:

Hey ChillyField !
How are you? It's Ilias again. I have some new questions for you.
What do you think about game jams in general, and this game jam in particular? What do you think could have been better, and do you have any suggestions?
What were your favorite video games?
Where do you think the strength of video games resides? What do you believe a video game should have to be a successful video game?
If you would like, you can tell me a little bit more about yourself and your background, if you have any information you would like to share.
Thank you in advance,
Ilias.

hello! Im fine thank you!
Let me answer your question :D
I think the game jam is a party for gam developer to improve their skills in advance! Honestly my skills in game developer feeling the progress after taking part in a few game jams, I learned a lot from it! I love this biga game jam! I think what will make this game jam better and fairer is by changing the scoring system, namely that only the jury can judge, because during my experience in participating in game jams where the scoring depends on the participants, it makes many other participants do tricks by how to give 1 star to another game with the aim of bringing them down and making themselves the winner, this makes people disappointed because what they previously felt were sweet words and comments from other developers and ended up disappointed when they saw the rating was so bad because it didn't match their expectations from the comments with existing assessments, this makes me feel sorry for them. My favorite video game is "Mobile Legend", Basically, entertainment media is very popular with everyone, let alone children, parents also like to play video games, because basically everyone likes entertainment, especially video games. A successful game is a game that is fun and entertains everyone. Im ChillyField im from indonesia! By the way i tried to make side job (freelancing) i can help you making games! If you want to talk with me in detail, here my discord: YELLOW BLOB#7688

Well crafted pixel art and simplistic visuals when properly made can be a beautiful choice for a video game !!.
it's seems challenging to me to create a game with pixel art , and i have a plan to do so too in the future when it's possible to me.
Pixel Art Games can be Fun Games can be cool and can be adventurous and nice memories !!

Questions:
Did you implement any optimization techniques, or did you choose to use only in-engine optimizations?
What engine and tools did you use to create your game, including the graphics?
How challenging was it to develop your game? Did you face any significant obstacles?
What inspired your game idea and gameplay? Could you share the story behind the game's name?
How did you get into video game development?

Note: It would mean a great deal to me if you could rate my game. If you haven't already, feedbacks from friends and fellow gamers is valuable to me. Thank you in advance for your consideration and your time.
Thanks!
Ilias.

hello! Wow your review is so amazing :O
Let me answer your question:
I use GDevelop engine, i use low pixel for optimization from lag, in this challange i sacrifice my beauty sleep for this game haha, i inspired from cat vs dog game, i make this game with rush time ♡
Oh, thank you, ChillyField!
Yeah, same here. I didn't get the proper sleep I usually get, and sometimes working at night is more comfortable for me!
Tell me, is GDevelop hard to master/learn, and does it have any limitations for HTML5 builds? From your experiences in this jam or any others, I am asking because I had some limitations on my part using the Unreal Engine. Some features worked only on Windows, and when exporting for the browser, the quality wasn't as good as on Windows.
Gdevelop is easy to learn, because there is no coding, same like construct engine. If you want do coding, you can use javascript languange. gdevelop is open source and easy to learn, but as for the weakness of gdevelop, this engine is still less powerful compared to unity, this engine is still under development by the community ♡
Do you mean it has visual scripting, to create events and actions?
I guess it's somewhat similar to what Unreal Engine has.
yes, its called eventsheet. Good ♡
Oh , nice name , i'll try and check it this week , as soon as i can with little bit of free time !
Thanks again !
okay!! Your welcome ♡
Fun little game. Really reminds me of the co-op games from the Miniclip days. Could definitely see a game like this on there!
thank you so much ♡
Cute vibey little game but hard to play both sides by myself. :( I felt the shooting was a bit hard to learn. Out of 10 tries I got 1 hit and that too while not moving any player 😂 Idk how noob that makes me lol
Well polished, good sound FXs. :)
Thanks for your review ♡
This game reminded me a lot of the Bucky anime vibe.
Good job!
thankss!!
I like the game menu. I wonder what the points I get for a hit depend on, I just constantly get a different number of points
thank you!
Cute :)
I would have loved to have a bit more control with targeting, just having the angle made it a bit harder.
Graphics and UI were coherent and good! Nice job man :)
thank you so much!
Yes, there are another entry made with GDevelop
thanks ♡
Fun game, reminds me of blobby volley somehow. We control the direction of the throw, but the strength seem random, in a sense it makes the game less predictable and more chaotic which is good, but at the same time it would already be a bit hard to aim correctly with a fixed strength, so it feels a bit random qnd hard to control…
thank you for your review
